Last Valentine's. Food was awesome. Huge selection. Restaurants were really good and lots to eat at buffet. No complaints on food! I don't pay attention to walls when I'm on vacation but nothing bad stood out. Some people look for things to complain about.

Staff were all great. Room was clean. Beach was beautiful and plenty of beach chairs. I would definitely go back.

I stayed there about 5 years ago. It was nice. And walking distance to Bucerias which was awesome! You can also take the city bus to PV with one transfer at the mall.

Great bar- yoyomos, run by a calgarian

it's a good hotel, but has a tiny beach, and only one pool, annoying when people jump next to you, we prefer in bucerias the royal decameron it is a couple of hotels further down but better beach, larger resort, at elast 5 pools, also adults only section/pool and family friendly children/pool.

I’ve stayed at Royal Decameron as well. It’s a nice resort. A bit dated. You can walk right into Bucerias from there to go touring, market, restaurants etc. it’s 3 Star I think.

Profile picture of Molnar

Molnar

it's a 4 star, yes they all go dated slowly. Riu in Mazatlan is way better, if you're set on Riu

Profile picture of Kristen

Kristen

Molnar Riu In Mazatlan was pretty great I must say. Food was much better too but Royal Decameron has much more to do in the area.

Profile picture of Judith

Judith

Kristen That's 'cause it's IN Bucerias.

Profile picture of Kristen

Kristen

Judith I know. We loved it for that. Rather than being in resort row!

i agree Kristen loved Riu Mazatlan, the only thing what ruined our trip was the not so great weather, but that can happen anywhere

between nayarit Riu and decameron in bucerias would choose all the time decameron, really good food, the italian, and brazilian steakhouse are amazing, and is a larger resort so you don't have to fight for chairs all the time, but that's personal again. Plus it's a really short walk to the small village you can walk on beach too. But if you're not set on the destination Tracy go to Riviera Maya, Barcelo , doesn't matter which there are 5 hotels in 1, didn';t find a hotel which topped it yet

We stayed at Riu Palace Pacifico and loved it. The two sister ones just down the beach are Riu Vallarta and Riu Jalisco. I know several people that have stayed at both and they gave them the THUMBS up! I prefer the Pacific side of Mexico as the weather is more consistent!

Profile picture of Jamie

Jamie

I didn't find the beach tiny compared to other resorts in Mexico, but yes more pools would be nice.

We stayed at Riu Jalisco (next door) spent a day at the Riu Vallarta. Quite enjoyable!

We’ve stayed at all 3 riu’s in pv, the palace has better food and alcohol, all of them are big with many people, in order to get a good chair at pool or beach you need to get up early and stake your claim, food is average.. beach is very nice to walk, flamingos Vegas Vallarta is a way better hotel but more money.

I stayed here a few years ago. The beach was nice with lots of chairs but there was no drink delivery on the beach. There is only 1 pool for adults but it was fine. The food was decent too. I'd wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I stay at the Jalisco next door,,a bit cheaper and everyone tends to come to the Jalisco to have fun. Been 12 times would choose the Jalisco over the Vallarta anytime
