Need Recommendations for Camping and Hiking on a Road Trip from Vancouver to California?

I have no specifics as our kids haven't been old enough to do much hiking on our road trips yet but we love the area near Crater Lake OR, and Mount Shasta, CA. Also OR has some really nice waterfalls to hike to. Google will help you read about them.

See the 1500 years old giant Redwood trees, at Redwood National Park near Crescent City, Ca (most northern tip of California State and where the Oregon Coast Hwy. 101 ends).

Cannon Beach, OR is a pretty place to spend a night or 2. Carmel, CA is a very cute town. San Fran is a must!

There's an amazing little town in Oregon called Bandon. Best seafood anywhere. Also, Hearst castle in California is pretty incredible.

Jesse Honeyman Park in OR is beautiful camping, and right next to the dunes. The redwood forest is also a must see, and Yosemite as well if you can make it that far East! But also spend some time in Portland, especially if you like craft beer

Monterrey, Carmel by the sea, San Luis Obispo (all 101) all wonderful places. Stay away from Hwy 5 from Sacramento through Bakersfield, it is the dirtiest, smoggiest and ugliest part of California

All of it! They are all must sees although some of the parks or passes maybe closed due to snow

If your going as far as San Diego there is a aweome little town called San Clemente and they have a very clean safe campground outiaide Camp Pendelton. And it's a short drive / 15 min walk to beach
Wasn't inpresswd with the other camp spots we got outside of that spot

Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area along Hgwy 101, near Reedsport, Oregon, rent a sandrail or hire someone to take you on a ride up, down and around the dunes - great fun
