I just used the hotwire "secret hotel" deal and it was great. Stayed at the Sheraton Wall Centre for $125 Cdn. Book 4 or 5 star hotels and you won't be disappointed
Capturin
Yes airibnb.com - best deals and way more extras than hotels.
Barb
Thanks, I will check out sites!
Ilka
Try UrbanSuiteDigs. airbnb. We stayed there, in Strathcona. Pretty much in the city but not downtown towers. Like a beautiful hotel suite at a fraction of the cost.
Wendy
Will you be considering Richmond? I have a vacation rental 2 bedroom apartment. If you want to see some pictures of the apartment , I can send it to you.
Catherin
I recommend the Listel on Robson. Call them and ask for their best price!

It's Pride week/end in Vancouver and usually hard to find hotels that don't cost a fortune. Might try the outskirts...Richmond, Burnaby, North Vancouver, places with easy transit access, if other options above don't pan out. Good luck.

It might be tough no matter what you do. It is BC day long weekend and Vancouver PRIDE. It's one of the busiest weekends in Vancouver for hotels.

Not sure where you want to be,but I suspect downtown area will be full due to PRIDE. If you are willing to get out of the city, you could try places like this: http://www.thistle-down.com/
Marji
UBC may have rooms. Try Triumphhouse.ca if you are willing to be out there instead of downtown
Suzanne
https://www.airbnb.ca/s/Vancouver--BC--Canada... Lots of options here. Remember to create a profile!
Susan
Barb what are you guys going to be doing? I'm asking because if you are spending more time in places like Burnaby perhaps you can find something there.
Barb

Susan
Did you try The Rosedale on Robson?
Susan
The Sandman Inn (walking distance).
Barb

The Ramada Downtown.

The Chateau Granville is about a 30 minute walk.
Susan
There is a hostel on Granville Street. No age restriction.
Marji
The problem is, not only is it pride week, it is also the BC day long holiday.

Short-Term Rentals and Bed & Breakfasts in Vancouver
Are you planning a weekend getaway to Vancouver from August 1st to August 3rd? If you're having trouble finding a hotel, don't worry! Vancouver offers plenty of great alternatives in the form of short-term rentals and cozy bed & breakfasts.
Short-Term Rentals
One of the most popular options for short-term accommodations in Vancouver is through online platforms like Airbnb, VRBO, and HomeAway. These platforms allow you to rent apartments, condos, or even entire houses from local hosts. Here are a few benefits of choosing a short-term rental:
- More space and amenities than a typical hotel room
- Access to a kitchen for preparing your own meals
- Unique and local experiences by staying in residential neighborhoods
- Often more affordable than hotels, especially for groups or families
Bed & Breakfasts
If you're seeking a more traditional and intimate experience, Vancouver's bed & breakfasts (B&Bs) might be the perfect option. These charming accommodations offer a homely atmosphere, personalized service, and delicious homemade breakfasts. Here are some advantages of choosing a B&B:
- Warm and friendly hosts who can provide local insights and recommendations
- Unique and historic properties, often beautifully decorated
- Cozy and quiet surroundings, ideal for a relaxing stay
- Opportunities to meet and interact with fellow travelers
Whether you opt for a short-term rental or a bed & breakfast, Vancouver has plenty of options to make your weekend getaway memorable. Be sure to book early, as these accommodations tend to fill up quickly, especially during peak travel seasons.
Happy exploring and enjoy your time in beautiful Vancouver!
