Definitely need to go to cafe o lei at the mill house. We went there for mothers day. The meal and service were amazing. Need to reserve far in advance.
Laura
Happy Hour is definitely the way to go for many restaurants in Maui.
Kari
Love Duke’s and Monkey Pod. And it’s not a restaurant but if you love Pineapple check out the Pineapple store for fresh Pineapple smoothies!
Michelle
Go to the Ritz Carlton for drinks and watch the sunset, I'm 95% sure u don't need reservations
Diana
Besides Monkey Pod as recommended above, Star Noodle in Lahaina, by far one of the best restaurants on Maui.
Lianne
Diana I second Star Noodle and Monkeypod! Leoda’s Pie Shop in Lahaina is good too!
Hailley
Mama’s fish house
Sharron
Mamas fish house!!!!
Steven
Sansei sushi, kapalua
Frances
Mama’s fish house!
Lois
Mamas Fish House and Star Noodle for sure!
Kevin
Monkeypod Kitchen in Kaanapali is decent as well.
Shannon
Lahaina Pizza - best pizza ever but we did not need a reservation
Verna
Book Mama’s Fish House now. They had a 3 month wait list when we tried to go in the last two weeks of March this year. Monkey pod is a must.
Terry
Star Noodle, book for 4:30, get the sunset
Chad
Lahaina grill
Chad
Monkey pod is overrated in my opinion, there better options.
Lisa
Another vote for Monkey Pod.
Kerry
The gazebo in Napalli is so good for breakfast and lunch - Mamas fish house is crazy expensive for what you get - the restaurants in the big expensive hotels are great and you can watch sunset
Kathleen
Mamas fish house. Expensive but worthy!
Laura
Not sure why I don’t see it mentioned in this group very often, but I give top marks to Lahaina Grill. Have eaten at Mama’s, Fletwood’s rooftop and Lahaina grill this year and would by far rate the food and service at Lahaina Grill above the other two. Mama’s #1 for location and surroundings, Fleetwood’s #1 for atmosphere.
Kindi
Kimo’s in Lahaina
Monkey Pod in Whalers Village
Duke’s in Ka’anapali
Castaway Cafe in Ka’anapali
I would suggest making reservations in advance.

Fuck , talk about a structured vacation.
I like a vacation that has spontaneity.
Scheduals are for home.

We miss the açai bowls from Island Vintage in Whaler's Village so much! You can order online and pick up. The lines can get pretty long. Also loved Joey's kitchen for the grilled tacos. 3 tacos for $15! So filling and so delicious. We stayed at the Westin and found the food mediocre and overly salty so we ate mostly at Whaler's food court. We also went to Hula Grill for the Hula pie (yum).
Star Noodle was good too, make a reservation. My daughter was a little afraid of all the birds landing on the table but enjoyed the food nonetheless. We really wanted to try
Papa'aina at the Pioneer Inn in Lahaina but couldn't get a reservation. Have a fun and fabulous trip! We miss Maui!
Francesc
Fleetwood’s on Front St in Lahaina has a great Happy Hour (3-5 pm) menu and usually some live entertainment
Kelly
Taverna best Italian!!

we are going to Maui for two weeks over Christmas. I heard we should book our restaurant reservations in advance. Any recommendations for restaurants to go to. We are staying around Kaanapali but have a car and can go anywhere.
