Planning a beach vacation for December. Any thoughts on the best place to go to? Preferably white sand, clear water, and reasonably priced.

I’ve been to Oahu... what’s your favourite island?

Oahu was my least favourite. Too touristy. I hated Waikiki/Honolulu. I still had fun exploring the island though.
I love Kauai, Big Island and Maui. I could go on forever about all of them. There s a cat sanctuary on Lanai which is another island you can only get to from Maui. 600 cats and they jump on your back and make you feel so loved! One of my favourite experiences.
For what you're looking for I'd say Kauai or Maui. Big Island is great for different reasons. like the active lava and swimming at night with manta rays. There are really nice beaches there with turtles everywhere but you gotta put more effort into finding them.
Kauai's Polihale State Park beach is one of the nicest of all the islands imo!

High season, you need to know your budget

Just under 2 weeks... would like to stay under $6000 for two people.

IF you could swing it, and the airfare may be the challenge: australia gold coast

That said, likely anywhere south pacific, nz, tahiti, etc for sunshine and beaches

Canadian or us$6000.. so let’s assume us as that is the currency. $ 6000 is $430per day. Work backward from your accommodation cost.
Hawaii is very expensive. . But airfare if on sale may make up.

I make hawaii work with much less than that budget. There are some really nice and fair priced airbnbs there.

you can do hawaii easily under that budget. ppl just assume it has to be expensive. just takes some research and planning. i go frequently.. and i always stay in a condo rental with a suv rental for my full stay. personally? i love oahu.. and get irritated when ppl harp
on it. it’s only touristy etc if you stay in one area and don’t explore and get a true oahu experience. the island has so much to offer for everyone. it can be busy and touristy if that’s what you like, but it can also be remote and chill. it really depends on what kind of vacay you want. maui, while beautiful, is too slow for me..

Any where in the Caribbean, excluding Jamaica (just cause it’s unsafe), no specific just the Caribbean

Was not a fan of this area. There's nothing to do there really. Havana is over 4 hours away and Trinidad was 3 hours.

Don’t go to Cayo Santa Maria unless you want to just hang out on the beach. Absolutely the best beach to hang out on, but if you want to explore Cuba stay in Varadero or some where else easy to travel.

We loved it! Beautifully secluded and the water and beach was unreal. The clearest, cleanest water I’ve eve seen. We did a trip to Trinidad on the Caribbean coast, which was amazing to experience. Time stands still there.

I was going to say Turks & Caicos, but you lost me at reasonably priced.
We are fan favourites of Caribbean cruises. Reasonably priced and you get to see a multitude of destinations where you can then decide where you may (or may not) want to go back and spend more time.

The Baja in Mexico.

Isla Mujeres Mexico. Google Playa Norte beach. One of the most beautiful in the world. Crystal clear waters and white sandy beaches. Amazing food
