If you’re looking for a nice budget hotel I stayed at the El Acuario and loved it. 5 min walk to the strip & beach, pool & mini kitchen

I stayed in casa che b&b last year in playacar 1 (right by that outdoor mall at the end of Quinta avenida). It was pretty cheap, nice and quiet, decent breakfast included.

There are tons. Search con Air Bnb, VRBO or even trip advisor. I love the Plantation House!

Las Palapas, just north of town on the beach

Playacar palace wonderful not too big!

Agree with above - search any of the big websites ( Expedia, booking.com, hotels.com) and you will have lots to choose from. We ultimately decided that Puerto Morelos 30 minutes north of playa was more to our liking and we were very happy with that decision.

Yes Playa del Carmen is losing it’s small town charm in a hurry. It’s too bad .

Hotels in Playa del Carmen near the beach that are not all inclusive
Here are a few hotels in Playa del Carmen that are not all inclusive and are located near the beach:
- The Royal Playa del Carmen
- The Hilton Playa del Carmen
- The Marriott Playa del Carmen Resort & Spa
- The Hyatt Ziva Cancun
- The Grand Hyatt Playa del Carmen Resort
These hotels offer a variety of amenities and services, including swimming pools, restaurants, bars, and fitness centers. They are also located within walking distance of the beach, shopping, and nightlife.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.
Paul
Does anyone know any Hotels in Playa del Carmen, near the beach that is not an all inclusive resort? I know when I walked around a couple years ago there were a couple in the downtown core, but I cannot remember the names and cannot seem to find them online!?!?
