Hi! We've never been to Mexico but we have a couple of friends moving to Cabo San Lucas.
We are planning to go in November with my 6 year old boy to visit them.
Looking for recommendations on the best places to stay! Not really looking for resorts, but if you have a good suggestion we will look into it!
Thank you so much.

Kim we looked into this resort for November as well, and noticed on the website that the water park will be under construction at that time. Might want to double check before you book if you’re dead set on the water park

If you go for end of October/first of November you’ll be there for Day of the Dead - well worth experiencing! So much fun. October 31-November 2.

Marsha I heard there are a lot of hidden fees? But I've never had that issue using airbnb in Canada. Your experiences have been good?
I'm leaning towards this so my son can sleep in his own bedroom or he doesn't sleep.

Samantha i have found it to be the same as in canada. Just stay on the site for billing. I’ve had them try to ask me to go privately with their e mail. Don’t do it.

I love Mexico. We always do 5 star resorts and have a great time. Kids LOVE Mexican resorts. Slushy drinks buffets kids club. Your friends will be able to visits you there too. You can always order them drinks so they don’t have to pay.

Samantha we are headed to the dreams (secret side) in a couple weeks. We have stayed in the Hyatt and another that I forget the name. If it’s 5 stars you generally can’t go too wrong.
Pick based on location to your friends and activities for the little one. I always like resorts with evening kids club when my kids were young so that me and my husband could go to dinner without the kids. They liked it too because they didn’t want to sit down for dinner.

If you want on the ocean Casa Dorado is amazing, not all inclusive and rooms have a kitchen and walking distance to everything. If off the ocean Medano Hotels & Suites.

We rented a vrbo in Portofino (area is Pedregal) a couple of times when we took our sons with us.The complex had a pool and we walked to the marina/beach. I would NEVER stay in a resort in Cabo. Too much good food everywhere. We are actually looking to buy a condo there because we love it so much.

The Best Places to Stay in Cabo San Lucas with Kids

Cabo San Lucas, a vibrant resort town on the southernmost tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula, is an excellent destination for families with kids. With its stunning beaches, warm weather, and plenty of activities, it's no wonder you're considering visiting your friends there. Here are some recommendations for the best places to stay in Cabo San Lucas with your 6-year-old boy:

Vacation Rentals

Vacation rentals are an excellent option for families, as they offer more space, privacy, and amenities than a traditional hotel room. They also provide the convenience of having a kitchen, which can be helpful when traveling with kids.

  • Cabo Villas Beach Resort & Spa: This beachfront resort offers spacious villas with one to three bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, and private terraces or balconies. It also features multiple pools, a kids' club, and a playground.
  • Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort & Spa: Located on a private beach, this resort offers luxurious suites and villas with kitchenettes or full kitchens. It has a kids' club, water sports activities, and a variety of dining options.

Family-Friendly Hotels

If you prefer the convenience of a hotel, there are several family-friendly options in Cabo San Lucas:

  • Villa del Arco Beach Resort & Spa: This beachfront hotel offers suites with kitchenettes, multiple pools (including a kids' pool), a kids' club, and daily activities for children.
  • Solmar Resort: With its spacious suites, multiple pools, and kids' club, this resort is a great choice for families. It also offers a variety of dining options and is located near the marina.

Residential Areas

If you prefer a more residential setting, consider staying in one of the neighborhoods near Cabo San Lucas, such as:

  • Pedregal: This upscale residential area offers luxurious vacation rentals with stunning ocean views and amenities like private pools and concierge services.
  • San Jose del Cabo: This charming town, located about 20 miles from Cabo San Lucas, offers a more authentic Mexican experience and a variety of vacation rentals and family-friendly hotels.

No matter where you choose to stay, be sure to factor in proximity to the beaches, restaurants, and activities you plan to enjoy during your visit. With its beautiful scenery, family-friendly attractions, and variety of accommodation options, Cabo San Lucas is an excellent destination for a memorable family vacation.
