You can fly to india through major hubs in Europe (London -BA, Frankfurt -Lufthansa or Amsterdam -KLM) from most Canadian cities. Your average flight times will be between 23 to 27 hours. All flights through these cities will connect you to most major cities in India. Try air canada too. Singapore and Hong Kong are route options through Vancouver, though they are longer flights.

Almost too many options. I have been to India via Japan, Malaysia, London, Duabi, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. There are more options. The great thing is that is that you can pick your stopover - I usually like to do a few days or a week and get 2 vacations with one ticket

air canada flies to India direct from Vancouver and Toronto. But Toronto is a big detour. Frankfurt is a good transit point because you get ACs Dreamliner and lufthansas A380. Or BA via London if you can stand the food.
