We stayed at cinnamon and it was great, we had to stay overnight on the island the first night in a hotel because our flight arrived too late to make the transport to the resort, definitely take the float plane at least one way to your resort, we did one way boat one way plane, when you arrive at the airport i recommend dressing modestly as it is a Muslim country but when you get to your resort it’s just regular beach rules, we did the private island and fishing both were great, loved it there, the people were actually the nicest I’ve ever met

Maldives Vacation Recommendations

The Maldives is a breathtaking tropical paradise, renowned for its pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and luxurious overwater villas. With its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage, it's no wonder the Maldives is a dream destination for many travelers. Here are some recommendations to help you make the most of your Maldives vacation.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit the Maldives is between November and April, when the weather is dry and sunny with average temperatures ranging from 25°C to 30°C (77°F to 86°F). This period is considered the high season, so expect higher prices and larger crowds. If you prefer fewer crowds and lower prices, consider visiting during the shoulder seasons (May-July or September-October).

Where to Stay

The Maldives is famous for its luxurious overwater villas, which offer direct access to the crystal-clear waters and stunning views of the Indian Ocean. Some of the most popular and highly rated resorts include:

  • Soneva Fushi Resort
  • One&Only Reethi Rah
  • Gili Lankanfushi
  • Velaa Private Island
  • Baros Maldives

These resorts offer exceptional service, world-class amenities, and a range of activities, including snorkeling, diving, spa treatments, and more.

Things to Do

  • Island Hopping: Take a day trip or go on a multi-day island-hopping adventure to explore the unique charm of different islands in the Maldives.
  • Sunset Cruise: Embark on a romantic sunset cruise and witness the breathtaking colors of the Maldivian sky as the sun dips below the horizon.
  • Cultural Experiences: Visit local villages, attend cultural shows, and learn about the rich heritage and traditions of the Maldivian people.
  • Water Sports: Indulge in various water sports activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, and more.

Travel Tips

  • Pack Conservatively: Respect the local culture and dress modestly when visiting islands outside of your resort.
