The road to Hanna is Very narrow and curvy so most companies don't rent if that is where you plan to go.....too many accidents!
Don
Lol i would never drive a motor home to hana , that road gets very skinny at times and lots of blind corners . We rented a taho while we were there and it seemed to big to even drive on that road . It is def an amazing experience but was a very long day if you want to stop and see the sights , there is an app called shaka maui u can purchase that gives you an amazing experience for the trip there and back

Do you guys think a small rental car would be ok? We've never been to Maui
Pat
Yes, a small car would be much safer!
Gail
We've always rented from Kihei car rental. They pick you up at airport and drive you back and we did drive to Hana in one of their older model Nissan cars. Start out early before 6 am , it's an all day trip.
Nicole
we rented from them too; they were great. good price too.
Cindy
Make sure you go in good weather. Roads can wash out easy. No rv to narrow and windy. We use enterprise always good experience and often upgrade for free. Doesnt hurt to ask either!
Ronald
Larger trucks drive it regularly you can drive it
Philip
There is a sign on road to Hanna, that reads no rental vehicles past this point

RV and Campervan Rentals in Maui: A Positive Experience
The Search for a Reliable RV/Campervan Rental
Finding a trustworthy and well-maintained RV or campervan rental in Maui can be a daunting task, especially when you come across listings that seem too good to be true or have concerning reviews. However, with a little persistence and research, you can find a reputable company that will provide you with a positive and unforgettable experience.
Our Experience with Maui Motorhomes
After sifting through numerous options, we decided to rent an RV from Maui Motorhomes, and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The company has been in business for over 20 years and is known for its well-maintained fleet and excellent customer service.
From the moment we made our reservation, the staff at Maui Motorhomes was friendly, helpful, and responsive to all our questions and concerns. They provided detailed information about the RV, including its features, amenities, and any potential limitations, ensuring that we were fully prepared for our adventure.
The Road to Hana and Beyond
One of our primary concerns was whether the RV we rented would be capable of handling the challenging Road to Hana. Maui Motorhomes assured us that their vehicles were well-suited for the journey, and they were right. Our RV navigated the winding roads and steep grades with ease, allowing us to fully enjoy the breathtaking scenery along the way.
Throughout our 11-day journey, we explored various parts of Maui, from the lush rainforests to the pristine beaches, and our RV provided us with the comfort and convenience we needed. The amenities, such as a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, and sleeping quarters, made our trip truly stress-free and enjoyable.
Highly Recommended
If you're planning a trip to Maui and considering renting an RV or campervan, we highly recommend Maui Motorhomes. Their professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to providing a exceptional experience made our vacation truly unforgettable. With their well-maintained and reliable fleet, you can rest assured that you'll be able to explore the island's beauty without any worries.

Does anyone have a positive experience renting an RV or campervan in Maui? I've been hunting around the internet and the very few campers I've seen are either illegally run (no insurance) or have poor reviews and can't handle the road to Hana. Suggestions? We're hoping to go for 11 days starting August 4.
