Love New York ! Must do the Hop On Hop Off bus! It helps you get familiar with New York and it’s also a great way to get around
it’s cool to come over the Brooklyn bridge into New York at night to see all of the lights! Visit Soho and Chelsea - has the Hiline park
of course Central Park, Hell’s Kitchen and a Broadway show

Holly I heard about the high line after the 1st time I gotta back, darn. On my next trip....will also a Comedy Club
. Pop into the Magnolia Bakery
. I spent all my time @ Manhattan. Took subway to Queens ONCE. It was so abandoned n sketchy

Janet
Holly that’s what crossed my mind as well how safe the subway is for us girls!!
Robbin
Janet very safe!!!!!! Well Manhattan is for sure. I heard bad things about some of the other boroughs.
Holly
We mostly used the hop on bus, hailing a taxi is something you gotta do! And we walked a lot but there is something to see down every street so you might not see as much in the subway.

Do ask the many policemen for help if you’re lost. They were great to us. When you look up all you see if buildings and I often lost my bearings. I loved seeing the Statue of Liberty, Museum of Natural History, going to the top of Empire State and Rockefeller buildings, biking through Central Park, train to the Cake Boss, Coney Island, FAO Schwartz,Yankee ballgame, eating pizza, cheesecake and egg creams. I loved that city.
Terra
And a Broadway show! How could I forget that?! I saw Mama Mia.
Tracy
Download the subway app - it’s pretty awesome.

Subway to Coney Island, great view of the city from the top of the Ferris wheel. Lunch at Nathan's hot dogs.

You can take the Staten Island Ferry for free that will give you a great view of the Statue of Liberty and downtown Manhattan
Jamie
The hop on hop off bus was a highlight of my time there. The hosts were wildly entertaining and memorable. A walking tour of Grenich Village (sorry if I spelled that wrong) was a close second. Have fun!
Sarah
I second the hop on hop off bus
Joanne
Everything there is great. Definitely take in a show and walk across the Brooklyn bridge into Manhattan at night. Wonderful walking towards the lights.
Robbin
Make up a wish list or things that interest you and her; then go from there. Do you like shopping? My daughter did a Shopping Tour. Small groups are taken to up n comer NY designers! Jewelry, clothing, handbags
. Do you like Talk Shows? So many you can go to for free. We booked a show @ Carnegie Hall!!! $26.50, you pick your own seat. Walk the Brooklyn Bridge. We bought a 1 week subway pass and did so many things. MoMA, The Met, Top of the Rock @ Rockefeller Centre
. Oh yes book a Walking Tour. You will learn so much. Please tip them! That’s their salary. You’ll

If you don’t already start walking a lot. Walking is the easiest way to get anywhere but it can be tiring if aren’t conditioned for it.

Look on ticketmaster to see what is happening. We have attended the Met Opera, The LL Cool J/Run DMC concert, a NY Rangers game and the NYC ballet. So much happens there all the time
Yvonne
Def buy the NY pass, worth the money. And plan, plan, plan to get the most out of your trip!
Nikki
Coney Island! So much to do out there, aquarium, beach, amusement park, Nathan's Famous hot dogs where they do the hot dog eating contest.
Victoria
You must use the hop on hop off bus. They go everywhere. Lots to see with them and there is no rush cause they come to the stop around every 15 minutes. We used it last March and loved it. Also check out the battleship. Well worth the money

Just came back. Definitely buy a New York pass from newyorkpass.com. You will save a lot of money in entrance fees to many things (ie. hop on hop off bus, bikes, ground zero museum, Empire State Building) and so much more. Also, take the subway. Best pizza we had EVER was at Grimaldi’s in Brooklyn. PM me if you have any questions. I’m not an expert but we sure enjoyed what we did in the 5 days we had. Oh ... comfortable shoes.. we did a lot of walking.

Dos and Don'ts for a Memorable New York Trip with Your Daughter
New York City is a vibrant, exciting destination that offers countless opportunities for creating lasting memories with your daughter. To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, here are some essential dos and don'ts to keep in mind:
Do's
- Plan Ahead: Make a list of the top attractions and activities you both want to experience, and book tickets or make reservations in advance to avoid disappointment.
- Explore Diverse Neighborhoods: Venture beyond the iconic tourist spots and immerse yourselves in the unique character of neighborhoods like Greenwich Village, SoHo, and the Lower East Side.
- Experience the Food Scene: New York is a foodie's paradise. Try local delicacies like New York-style pizza, bagels, and hot dogs from street vendors. Make reservations at unique eateries for a memorable dining experience.
- See a Broadway Show: Watching a Broadway production is a quintessential New York experience. Book tickets in advance for a show that piques both of your interests.
- Take a Walking Tour: Explore the city on foot with a guided walking tour that covers historical sites, cultural landmarks, or neighborhoods off the beaten path.
Don'ts
- Don't Overpack: New York City is a walking city, so pack light and comfortable shoes. You'll be grateful when navigating the subway or exploring on foot.
- Don't Rely Solely on Taxis: While convenient, taxis can be expensive. Familiarize yourselves with the subway system and take advantage of ride-sharing services for cost-effective transportation.
- Don't Neglect Safety: While New York is generally safe, it's always wise to be aware of your surroundings, especially in crowded areas. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash or flashing expensive items.
- Don't Forget to Rest: With so much to see and do, it's easy to overexert yourselves. Schedule downtime and breaks to recharge and avoid burnout.
- Don't Miss Out on Local Experiences: While iconic attractions like the Statue of Liberty and Central Park are must-sees, make time to explore lesser-known spots and engage with local culture for a more authentic New York experience.
By following these dos and don'ts, you and your daughter will create cherished memories while experiencing the best of what New York City has to offer. Embrace the city's energy, stay flexible, and enjoy every moment of this special trip together.
