Hi All, Happy New Year!
My husband and I are looking at going to Spain end of April/beginning of May. So far we're thinking of going to Barcelona, Grenada, Seville and Madrid. Any recommendations on "must see" or "must do" attractions in these cities? I mostly need help with Grenada and Sevilla

Seville is our favorite city in Spain. Make sure to go out and enjoy the nightlife, found it to be more authentic and fun than Barca or Madrid. Plaza de Espana is absolutely a must - architecture, art, landscaping. Flamenco show also a must - I believe it originated there.

I was there last summer for about 2 week around Barcelona. The day trip to Monserrat with the visit of a winery was one of the highlight of that trip. The other one was the 4-5 days I stayed in Girona (I was staying in the old town, right next to the Cathedral). When I will go back, I will stay longer in that town!

The Alhambra in Granada is definitely worth a visit.

Buy the GoCity pass for Barcelona and Madrid. Do as much as you like (or as little). We did unlimited pass for 5 days for Barcelona and we did I think 26 included attractions! It was a busy 5 days.

See a flemenco show in Seville, and def the Alhambra. In Grenada, the bars give you a small tapas with your drinks and the more drink, the better the tapas get

Pre-buy tickets to Alhambra. Visit Ronda. Take the train from Seville for a day trip to Cordoba.

Accommodations will be more expensive but my daughter lived there and loved this festival. We went just before it; there was some rain but it was otherwise lovely. You can visit the Pueblos Blanca’s, by car from Sevilla, very worthwhile.

We flew in and out of Barcelona. We connected immediately for an internal flight to Sevilla. We stayed there about 4 nights, took a day trip to Cadiz…; toured the bullring (did not go to the fights but an interesting tour indeed); saw a lot else fascinating in Seville; then rented a car (pick up at the train station) and drove to Grenada. We bought our Alahambra tix at home, you have to do this. We stayed in a wonderful airbnb apartment near it. We had drinks at sunset looking at the fortress. That whole day was amazing. We never got to Cordoba. We flew back to Barcelona and then spent 2 nights and days there before flying home. It wasn’t enough time.

The Alhambra in Granada and the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona are must-sees! Make sure to go inside the Sagrada Familia, the interior is even more impressive than the exterior.
In Madrid, the Sabatini gardens and royal palace are beautiful. El Retiro park is also great, and the Prado Museum if you're into art.

Yes. Unbelievable!!! Just got back from those areas. Fabulous architecture in each city! Trains are amazing. So are highways! Enjoy. Not much English language though! Alhambra a must! Buy tixs here before you leave! Books up.

In Madrid: - reina Sophia museum to see one of Picasso's famous work, also Prado museum is a must. Watch a flamenco show (more authentic than the ones in Barcelona), if you love seafood try this restaurant restaurante cocteleria inclan brutal (their foods and drinks are very authentic)- San Miguel Market (very unique gastronomic experience)- royal palace of madrid
In Barcelona: Sagrada familia- park Güell- Mercado de La Boqueria (so authentic and delicious stuff to try)- go to the beach and around the beach there are many seafood restaurants that are so good. Try grilled razor clams

Just came back from a week in Sevilla and 3 days in Granada. Sevilla-make sure to stop by El Rinconcillo, the oldest tapas bar in Spain. The food is pretty good too. Make sure to have a cafe con leche and a Milhoja de Merengue at La Campana (the dessert is pretty sweet, so you might not want sugar in your coffee). I'm also particularly fond of the "lomo al Whiskey" at La Gorda de las Setas (pork tenderloin pan fried with olive oil, garlic and whiskey sauce, served with home cut fries) To best avoid the throngs of other tourists, try to stay north of the Cathedral, somewhere near the 'mushroom' (a huge, modern structure you can climb that covers the local market). Granada is a little more touristy, but, of course, the Alhambra is spectacular. Make sure to buy tickets in advance, it's about 14 euros. We had a great meal at Los Manueles as well as great Moroccan food. There are TONS of Moroccan restaurants there. In Seville, we often rent an apartment from VEO Apartment rentals, in Granada, we got a suite from Calm Suites and it was fantastic and very quiet. Enjoy! (in Madrid, don't miss Casa Alberto!)

Unless you have a few weeks, choose one area and explore it. Andalucia will be beautiful in spring. You could fly into Seville or Malaga and make a gorgeous road trip from there.
