Happy Friday all . Anyone know if you can bring Dried meat as in Jerky and homemade granola into Huatucol Mexico .I have a gluten allergy and want to bring some foods i know i can eat .Thanks

granola is okay i think but i'm pretty sure meat product can not go.

They have dogs at the airport that will sniff out undesirable foods. Doesn't matter if they are in carryons or in luggage.

yes Bob do you know what those foods are we have friends that come here every year from Mexico and bring meat and cheese here with them

Do they claim them? Meat isn't allowed

On the declaration form it asks about meats and produce, so your friends are lying to customs if they bring it in.

Yes have never had trouble eating there before other than gluten but this year I am off so many different foods it maybe a little harder I eat a Paleo diet so no legumes and limited grains lol

99.9% sure Jerky is a no-no... Granola is ok. There are 2 grocery stores there that have plenty of GF options - Super Che being the most convenient grocery store

Dried, packaged and labeled beef It should arrive with packaging completely intact, labeled in Spanish, English or other understandable language (Italian, Portuguese, French etc.) and with the health authority stamp. It must only originate from countries that fulfill the combination of MCRZI1 zoo sanitary requirements. Up to 500g per family AUSTRALIA (AUS) CANADA (CAN) CHILE (CHL) NEW ZEALAND (NZL) PANAMA (PAN) UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (USA)

so it is okay but it need to be only 500G and need to be packages from the following countries in bold. Fresh or frozen beef is a No.

The Costco over there has gluten free foods, I went to one in Monterrey and was surprised to see so many. Also most foods in Mexico are made of corn, tortillas etc, so are gluten free.
