Go to google.com/flights and you can search destinations based on dollar amount - sounds like Dominican will beat match your budget. Note in catholic countries first 2 weeks of April will be extremely busy for Semana Santa.
Shellie
Is that budget for each of you?

The beach in varadero is beautiful! If you stay in a four star the food will be good. Dont let it scare you away you will not starve! We had a great time and lived our day trip in the old vehicles to havana! Also just back from isla mujures the little island off of cancun. Loved it slower pace beaches beautiful!

Barbados! You can get a nice vacay rental (not all inclusive) and sometimes cheap flights at that time of year. Check VRBO.

Caribbean Getaway: A Comprehensive Guide to Planning a Relaxing Fly-and-Flop Trip
Introduction
Planning a fly-and-flop vacation in the Caribbean can be an exciting endeavor, but with so many options available, it can also be overwhelming. This blog post aims to provide a comprehensive guide to help you navigate the planning process and choose the perfect destination for your dream beach escape.
Choosing the Right Destination
When selecting your Caribbean destination, it's crucial to consider your specific preferences and budget. Here are some key factors to keep in mind:
- Direct flights or limited layovers: If you prefer direct flights or minimize layovers, consider destinations that are easily accessible from your departure city.
- Proximity to the beach: Choose a resort that offers direct access to a beautiful Caribbean beach, allowing you to effortlessly enjoy the warm waters and white sands.
- All-inclusive experience: All-inclusive resorts provide a hassle-free vacation, where meals, drinks, and activities are included in the package price.
- Budget: Set a realistic budget for your trip, considering the cost of flights, accommodation, food, and activities.
- Travel dates: March 25th to April 2nd is typically a popular time to visit the Caribbean, so book early to secure the best deals and availability.
Recommended Destinations
Based on your preferences, here are a few recommended destinations that fit your criteria:
- Dominican Republic: The Dominican Republic offers stunning beaches, all-inclusive resorts, and affordable prices. Consider Punta Cana, Bavaro, or Playa Dorada.
- Cayo Coco, Cuba: This beautiful island boasts pristine beaches, crystal-clear waters, and a relaxed atmosphere. It's also known for its affordability.
- Santa Maria, Cuba: Santa Maria is a lesser-known destination that offers tranquil beaches, excellent snorkeling opportunities, and all-inclusive resorts.
- Playa del Carmen, Mexico: While you mentioned you've been to Playa del Carmen before, it's worth considering again as it meets your other criteria and is known for its beautiful beaches, vibrant nightlife, and affordable prices.
Tips for a Smooth Trip
Here are a few additional tips to help ensure a smooth and enjoyable fly-and-flop trip:
- Book early to secure the best deals: Popular Caribbean destinations tend to fill up quickly, so it's advisable to book your flights and accommodations well in advance.
- Pack light to avoid checked baggage fees: Remember that most airlines charge extra for checked baggage, so pack only the essentials and consider utilizing carry-on luggage.
- Learn a few basic local phrases: Making an effort to communicate in the local language can enhance your interactions with the locals and enrich your overall experience.
- Respect the local culture: Be mindful of local customs and traditions to avoid any misunderstandings or cultural insensitivity.
- Stay hydrated: The Caribbean sun can be intense, so drink plenty of water or refreshing beverages to stay hydrated.
Conclusion
Planning a Caribbean fly-and-flop trip can be an exciting and rewarding experience. By following the recommendations in this guide and considering your specific preferences, you can choose the perfect destination and create lasting memories. Relax on pristine beaches, indulge in delicious food and drinks, and immerse yourself in the vibrant Caribbean culture. So, pack your bags, book your flights, and get ready for an unforgettable escape to paradise.
