Is it possible to stopover in Beijing on the way back from Hong Kong?

Question:

I'm wondering how to book a flight with a stopover. I just booked a cruise from Singapore to Hong Kong in June. Ideally we would like to stopover in Beijing for two or three days on our return from Hong Kong to Vancouver. Which airlines offer this and how do I search for it? Do I just search for a multi-city flight with three segments? Thanks in advance for advice.

Yep, that's exactly what you do! Just use the multi-city search option on any decent travel site. google flights is the fastest way to play around with dates.

You may also want to look into just booking the Vancouver - Singapore, Beijing - Vancouver flight...

...and then booking a separate one way flight from Hong Kong to Beijing. See how the price compares doing it this way.

I'd also suggest researching each leg independently. Sometimes, a multi-city flight plan ends up being more expensive then booking each leg separately. Keep in mind if you do find a better deal and get flights from separate sources, if anything goes wrong with one of the legs (ie, a late flight causes you to miss a connection), you may not have purchase protection because of how the flights were booked.

How to Book a Flight with a Stopover

Booking a flight with a stopover can be a great way to break up your journey and explore a new city. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to do it:

1. Choose your destinations and dates

The first step is to decide where you want to go and when you want to travel. Once you have your destinations and dates, you can start searching for flights.

2. Search for multi-city flights

When you're searching for flights, select the "multi-city" option. This will allow you to add multiple destinations to your search.

3. Enter your flight information

Once you've selected the "multi-city" option, you'll need to enter your flight information. This includes your departure city, arrival city, and travel dates.

4. Choose a layover city

Once you've entered your flight information, you'll need to choose a layover city. This is the city where you'll have your stopover.

5. Select your flights

Once you've chosen your layover city, you'll need to select your flights. You can choose from a variety of airlines and flight times.

6. Book your flights

Once you've selected your flights, you can book them online or through a travel agent.

Here are some tips for booking a flight with a stopover:
