Looking for Affordable Downtown Seattle Hotels?

Question:

What are your favourite hotels in downtown Seattle? My favourite is the Hotel Monaco but the prices are getting absolutely out of control over the years. I'm going Sept 28-30 (weeknights!) and I'm being quoted $400-500/night there. Looking for personal recommendations for something downtown (or very close) that's a lot more affordable! Thanks.

Sheraton, luckily I managed to get a great rate through a friend who works for hotel. But when the Sheraton rates are too high for me, I resort to staying at Clarion Hotel next to SeaTac airport and just across the SeaTac Light Rail Station. $3 and 45 mins subway ride to get to the city centre

Pan Pacific always gives me the best service but it is pretty expensive - I keep an eye out for when they have deals. It's just a couple blocks away from the core.

Can't beat The Moore Hotel for location and price! I got 2 rooms for 3 people for less than the price of 1 room at other hotels in mid-summer.

Oh the Hotel Monaco is really really nice! The only reason I found it and could even afford to stay there was because of priceline.com. I used the name your price option. You can't see the hotel's but you can put how many stars etc. And it gives you a map with circle around where it is so you have a rough idea of location and you can head over to google maps and narrow it downand decide if the you are ok with the hotels in that spot. It was a quarter of the price! We were shocked how nice it was!
Also if you get a chance to eat at Purple. Incredible food.

Affordable Downtown Seattle Hotels

Seattle is a vibrant city with a thriving downtown area, but finding affordable accommodations can be a challenge, especially during peak travel seasons. If you're looking for an alternative to the luxurious Hotel Monaco without breaking the bank, here are some personal recommendations for budget-friendly hotels in downtown Seattle or nearby neighborhoods.

1. Hotel FIVE - A Staypineapple Hotel

Located in the heart of downtown Seattle, Hotel FIVE offers a unique and quirky experience with its retro-inspired decor and trendy vibe. Despite its prime location, rates are surprisingly reasonable, often ranging from $150 to $250 per night. The hotel boasts comfortable rooms, a fitness center, and complimentary Wi-Fi.

2. The Paramount Hotel Seattle

Just a stone's throw away from the iconic Pike Place Market, The Paramount Hotel Seattle is a budget-friendly option that doesn't compromise on quality. With rates typically between $150 and $250 per night, this hotel offers clean and comfortable accommodations, along with a fitness center and on-site restaurant. Its central location makes it a great base for exploring downtown Seattle.

3. Hotel Max

If you're a fan of art and creativity, Hotel Max is an excellent choice. This boutique hotel in downtown Seattle features a vibrant and eclectic design, with rooms adorned with works by local artists. Rates generally range from $150 to $250 per night, making it an affordable option for those seeking a unique and artsy stay.

4. Green Tortoise Hostel

For budget-conscious travelers, the Green Tortoise Hostel in the Pike Place Market neighborhood offers a wallet-friendly alternative. With dorm rooms and private rooms available, rates can be as low as $50 per night for a dorm bed or around $100 for a private room. While basic, the hostel provides a comfortable and social atmosphere, perfect for solo travelers or groups looking to save money.

Remember to book well in advance, especially during peak travel seasons, to secure the best rates. Additionally, consider joining hotel loyalty programs or checking for discounts and promotions to maximize your savings.
