Is a stopover in Marathon or Key Largo better for scuba diving on the drive back to Miami from Key West?

5 days is more than enough, key west has a long strip of bars/stores and mostly everything is contained in that area. Check out Mallory Square for sunset parties, and stop in at No Name Pub on your drive back up (there’s over $1/4 Million stapled to the ceiling of the pub, pretty interesting to see. And if you can fit it in once you’re in the Miami area, I highly recommend shark diving with Florida Shark Diving in Jupiter.

Everywhere in the Keys is beautiful, some of the islands are super quiet and others are livelier. Key Largo and Islamorada are relaxing and gorgeous. Key West has so much to see and feels completely different and faraway. The original Pan-Am office, the Hemingway House with the polydactyl cats and the Southernmost point of the US are all worth seeing. Great place to walk around, roosters on the beach, very tropical. A second recommendation for Hemingway House. It was my favourite experience in Key West.

Any shark diving on keys?

Yep. I had a juvenile shark coming to us and was pretty cool. He went around us and then left when my instructor approached him to say hi

Hello itchy footed-peeps. Spending a couple of nights in Key West soon. We want to drive back to Miami and stopover night a couple of places. Thinking about Marathon and Key Largo (scuba diving). Interested in your thoughts. Only have a 5 day spread to work with (incl KW) in the Keys. Thanks for your kind advise.
