We were there for a month last November and loved it. Great beaches and surfing if you are into that. We visited a number of sea temples - spectacular settings. Monkey Forest in Ubud is a must see. Some of the other temples are interesting. Great shopping for wood carvings and other creations, especially batik. Visiting and hiking through rice terraces a must do. Visiting and hiking volcano highlands. We also spent a few days in the Gili Islands by Lombok - total relaxation beach holiday on Gili Meno. We hired a driver to tour us around - I wouldn't drive there. Our driver was fantastic and became a family friend. You can find him on Facebook - name is Made Suciba. Have a wonderful time!

Better yet, camp the night before and beat the morning traffic! You get a sunset too! Mathis retreat was amazing to stay at in Bali and Kumu Si redipe was an awesome guide... ubud was amazing and if you can, try to go to Flores and check out the Komodo national park
Angel
Best meal we have ever eaten was at kubu at mandapa... amazing restaurant and great experience... very much on the pricey but one hell of an experience !
Larissa
Seafood dinner on the beach in jimbaran, uluwatu temple and watching the surfers at single fin, echo beach in canggu, garuda wisnu statue park. Tegenungan waterfall. Rent a moped or motorbike, dl an offline GPS app like mapsme, and just drive around everywhere. Bali also has uber!
Cynthia
I have a cousin there from Eckville who owns a dive shop. Cody MacDonald.
Robbin
Bali is beautiful. I went there by myself to a yoga retreat in the northern part - Tejakula. OmaZing
Nicole
I book 2 nights in tejakula! Any suggestions on what to do in area
Robbin
Nicole our yoga teacher knew many locals as she lived there 7 years. She introduced us to
Komang Arya Dauh. He was our driver. Google his name or Poomba House, which is his Homestay. He was excellent and can take you plus guide you. He told us all we needed to know about visiting a Holy Water Temple!!! That's an absolute must
. He took us in a rugged hike to Les Falls as well he provided our transportation to n from Denpasar airport! Quite a long drive
. You'll love Bali!!
Nicole
Awesome. We are heading to amed after so will look him up as we need a driver

Bikes are dangerous in some regions. We rented them Uluwatu but not around Denpensar. Surfers are killed commonly cause they don't know the traffic rules. Uluwatu is amazing! Ride mountain bikes in Uluwatu. I would highly highly recommend you catch the ferry off Bali to Gili Islands. It's heaven on earth. Much prefered it to Bali itself. It's a 1hr ferry across from Bali. 21 days you have plenty of time for a Gili trip. They run a 12$ snorkel tour across all three islands.
Nicole
Where did you stay in uluwatu ?:)
Connor
I can't remember. There is plenty of places.
Connor
In Gili tawangan gt we stayed at warna guest houses. It was crazy cheap and super nice!
Heather
I just spent two weeks in Bali! We saw 4 unique areas of the island.. I can post you our itinerary with more details if you like.
The one thing I was NOT prepared for... was the amount of garbage. If you are not staying in resort areas, you will see LOTS of garbage... on the streets, behind houses, in the ditches, in the ocean..
Heather
But, apparently, it's not as bad as Thailand, Malaysia and some other places.. I wouldn't let it stop me from going a second time. I wish someone had told me though.. as I was slightly disillusioned.
Nicole
Thailand was bad so I am pretty prepared of what to see therr lol thank you
Lisa
I'd be interested in seeing your itinerary
Robbin
Heather Emily Murray, can you post your itinerary for me please?
Mandy
Lunch at the Pan Pacific overlooking Tanah Lot Temple
Tiffany
If you like to dive/snorkel definitely check out the Gilli islands and Nusa lembongan/Nusa Penida
Nicole
Did you do any mantra snorkeling ?
Tiffany
Nicole I did the dive and didn't see any, but the people who went on the boat with us that were snorkeling did. Nusa penida is a fun place to rent a scooter and tour around 2. There's a few cool things to check out and it's easy to cruise around. You might be able to see mola mola when you go to! We were out of season for that.
Nicole
Hit and miss I guess! Thanks so much. Try and do a day trip for sure
Angel
If you are a diver, head to Flores with Flores xp and complete the dives there... lots of mantas and wildlife (batu Balong) and you will also see lots of dragons!

Loved Bali. My daughter runs the Puri Hotel in Ubud and a Yoga Retreat there. So many beautiful temples to see, great food, Ubud was one of my favorite areas with rice fields (those are everywhere but an amazing one is in Ubud), the local artisans, great shopping and food, and of course the Monkey Forest. Also the Balinese dancing is something to see.
Sabrina
We love Bali! In Ubud we took
Ketuts Bali Cooking Class it was fantastic! As well as the monkey Forest. I loved the market and many of the temples. The water temple was one of my favorites and the elephant cave one. We love Lovina and wish we had spent more time there. There is an amazing dolphin tour and snorkeling tour there for cheap too. We also went to Gili Meno for a few days and highly recommend!
