Will be spending one week on the main island of Okinawa, Japan and will be staying in Naha and Nago!
Looking for any recommendations for food and activities to do. We are looking for a good tour company to island hop as well!

I went solo to Okinawa a few years ago and noticed you can negotiate with the taxi drivers to get you and from or hire for the day. The main sites are far from each other.

In Naha, the Shuri Jo castle is great, beautiful. There are small plays (no extra charge) showcasing culture, the grounds are amazing, colours so rich you cannot use flash photography as they don’t want the colours to fade. Near Nago is one of the most amazing aquariums in the world. Second largest plexiglass wall? Anyhow, it’s outstanding. I spent a few days at a resort on the Yomitan peninsula and that was super relaxing, although English was rare there (lots of pointing at foods). I enjoyed snack bars all over Okinawa, they are a cool experience. There is a naval museum of sorts, it’s literally a series of caves hand cut into a mountain. It was quite the view of the American invasion, a view from the other side. I found it quite emotional but I really enjoyed it. I also went to a bird sanctuary that was super cool (sugoi!). There were four separate quadrants representing different areas of the world, and the birds all roam free. You can hand feed storks, peahens, and monkeys roam about. I wish I had names of places for you but I had Japanese hosts that sort of handled all that for me. I’m sure a little Googling could find them for you. Be prepared for rain, it can hit hard and fast. The people were amazing, I loved Oki and would absolutely go again (have been twice already). Cheers.

We scuba dive in Okinawa and went to the large aquarium the day before. Loved both!
