Question:

Japan question - if you didn't like Disneyland in the USA is there any reason you would go to Disneyland in Japan? Specifically if u only have 5 days?

There's two Disney Parks in Tokyo. A regular Disneyland and a second park called Disney Sea. Disney Sea was alot of fun.

So much else to experience

No. Disneyland there is almost identical just with extreme crowds. Disney Sea is cool but not worth a day.

5 days can’t even begin to cover Tokyo. If you’re not a big Disney fan already skip it.

Everything will be in Japanese - I went to universal in Osaka (when I was on a 10 day trip) for Harry Potter and everything was in Japanese
the Back to the Future rides, the Harry Potter Rides. I mean OBVIOUSLY but it threw me lol
I went to Tokyo for 4 days and didn't even consider going to Disney because it's pretty far flung.
There's so much more to see and do in Tokyo, I wouldn't bother spending a day at Disney - go to Hanayashiki Amusement Park in the Taito/Asakusa area. It was built in 1853! There's Konarimon and Nakamise Dori in the area too for you to get your fortune and some little goodies. Then the Sky Tree (and "Golden Poop") are just a short walk across the river - if you like Studio Ghibli, there is a shop at the base of the Skytree.
I also recommend getting pocket wifi unless you're good with figuring out foreign SIMs and such.

There's a great hostel/bar in the area too called Nui. It's my favourite place to stay in Tokyo

Erin interesting! I just figured they all would be!

Jill Disney Sea is actually the only Disney not owned by Disney lol if that makes sense. That's why it is different than the other parks (and cooler in
imo).

Better things to see! Visit the TeamLab Borderless exhibit. Take a tour of the electronics district with a local guide. Play in some of the infamous arcades.

I agree with everyone. The lines are really long and there are so many other things to do and see in Tokyo/Japan that spending a day in Disney would take away from the other fantastic things you could be doing

I've been a couple of times and wouldn't advise it with only 5 days. There's so much more to see and the crowds are insane. If you're a Disney fan, it's unlikely you'll get the same nostalgic feelings at Tokyo Disney or Disney Sea.

Visiting Disneyland in Japan for 5 Days

If you didn't particularly enjoy your experience at Disneyland in the USA, you might still want to consider visiting Disneyland in Japan, especially if you have a limited time of 5 days. Here are a few reasons why:

Unique Attractions and Experiences

While Disneyland parks share some similarities across different locations, each park offers unique attractions and experiences that can't be found elsewhere. Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea are no exceptions. From thrilling rides like Journey to the Center of the Earth and Raging Spirits to immersive themed lands like the Mediterranean Harbor and Arabian Coast, DisneySea is a one-of-a-kind park that sets it apart from other Disney parks.

Cultural Differences

Disneyland in Japan offers a distinct cultural experience. The Japanese attention to detail, hospitality, and efficient operations can make your visit more enjoyable. You'll also find unique food offerings that cater to Japanese tastes, adding a local flair to your dining experiences.

Seasonal Events and Celebrations

Tokyo Disney Resort is known for its elaborate seasonal events and celebrations. From the stunning Disney Easter celebration to the dazzling Tokyo Disneyland Christmas Fantasy, these events can add an extra level of magic to your visit. With only 5 days, you might have the opportunity to experience one of these special events, which can create lasting memories.

Efficient Use of Time

If you're short on time, Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea are located right next to each other, making it easier to hop between the two parks. Additionally, the parks are known for their efficient operations, which can help you maximize your time and experience more attractions during your limited stay.

While your previous experience at Disneyland in the USA may not have been entirely positive, giving Disneyland in Japan a chance could provide you with a fresh perspective and a unique Disney experience that you might not find elsewhere.
