Honua kai resort. It’s a condo complex with hotel anmenities like a lazy river and super nice pool. One half is run like a hotel, the other individually owned condos. You can choose to add housekeeping or not. You can also rent direct from owners on booking.com or VRBO etc. The place was awesome!

Also you must do a catamaran snorkel tour. you go out for the day and hit up three or four spots to see the underwater world then the bar opens on the boat for the sail back to the hotel zone. Awesome! There are a bunch of companies that do similar cruises.

VRBO or Homeaway ..we always use them in Maui. We'd rather cook than eat out. We're in our 40's... super active people but love to relax as well... and we prefer the Kihei area. Kam III beach area is where we stay. Rent a car and drive around the island... we've explored the whole island...North has amazing shoreline...Fleming beach is good. The Nakalee blow hole... and the arch heart rock is by the blow hole. Dragons teeth trail... Google all these.
South...Po'olenalena beach park... walk the beach to the farthest left... amazing snorkeling, we'ed see 15 turtles at any time. Makena Beach, Big Beach are beautiful but strong surf. Farthest south point is La Perouse Bay... beautiful volcanic rock.
Must visits...Maui Brewing Co... is great if you like beer and the food trucks are yummy! Maui Wine is great too.
Road to Hana is long but worth it. We've stayed in Kaanopali and Kihei and we found Kihei more fun... less retirees.
