We have used ours for Hawaii. Our toddler was able to sleep flat comfortably. It was also a fun way for him to get through the airport. We flew with air canada and no issues travelling there but on the way back, we had a very negative response from the flight attendant. We later found out there was an approved list of airlines: https://jet-kids.com/approved-airline-list/

Renee they're taking about the bed box as some airlines don't accept them. air canada is not on the approve list, that's why they commented that, not about the vaccination

Chryssa no. David specificity said don’t fly westjet, they fired they’re unvaxxed staff.

David as others stated, all airline employees must be vaccinated as mandated federally. AC actually laid off far more employees in 2020 than westjet did . Additionally, all WJ employees have shares (or the option to) in the company so arguable even laid off employees can continue to benefit from the success of WJ.
They both have their faults but I’ve never experienced such customer disservice as I have at AirCanada- on multiple occasions.

Also AC took a bail out AGAIN but WJ didn’t

I debated it for my little one when he was born. We were doing like 6 trips to Denmark - Canada a year in the first couple years of his life. I didn’t end up buying it as it’s one more piece of luggage to carry and I was often traveling solo with the little one. Also, the suitcase is basically full with the stuff so not much room for extra things. West coast kids used to stock them if you want to look. I ended up getting this blow up pillow thing on Amazon which fit in my bag and worked well. I would put a little blanket on top and he would sleep

Sheryl we have these for both our kids and it has helped a lot. We like them because you can deflate them when not in use. Nice small things to pack

Farrell maybe we should look at these blow up things for when he gets his own seat?

I have a couple of these as well. There's no way my toddler would be able to sleep laying flat with it, but I was so nice to be able to put my feet up while she slept on me!

The issue that airlines will push with this unit is egress and evacuation of the aircraft should an emergency arise. The only chance of using it would be at the window seat where no one would have to climb over or around it to get off the aircraft.
Car seats are the same. I've taken my child's car seat for him to sit in on flights but he has to be sitting at a window seat otherwise it can't be used.
Disclaimer: I work for a major airline in Canada.

My kids until age 10 have slept on the ground. I get 3 seats in a row. They “Spooned” in opposite directions.
I TAKE A CLEAN BLANKET AND THEY SLEEP ON IT … I’ve done this for atleast 6-7 flights. Mexico. Hawaii. Australia. El Salvador. It works well especially since I get the whole row to relax on.
So I haven’t used what you’re asking about, but this might be an idea for you.

I recently ordered a Flyaway Kids Bed. It’s approved for use on AC and WJ. Haven’t tried it out yet, but it seems like the design is a bit better than the Stokke (which I considered getting).

I’ve used “fly legs up” for myself and the kids and they slept great across the seats and they were like 10 at the time. I liked the option to remove inflatable pillows and use like a hammock for your legs so so I could sleep easier on long flights. I definitely thought it was worth it.

I love our jet kids. It’s great for napping but getting around the airport is seamless AND fun

I had a 5 year old and a 1 year old sleep comfy on this by adding another mattress I got from my free baby box. It’s also good for a bigger kid to ride on. I hooked it up to my stroller and didn’t need to pull him-just push my stroller.

We just take our daughters’s regular car seat on the plane. She’s used to it, safest place to be, and confined. She falls asleep just like in the car. Don’t have to worry about the seatbelt lights either because it’s buckled in.

We flew with the Jetbox with air canada, westjet, ANA (Japan) and Air Asia. No problem. But that was 2019

I have the inflatable one and it worked like a charm for all of our flights. My kids used it from 2-8 years old.

Traveling with a Toddler: Is the Stokke Jet Box Worth It?

As parents, we all know the challenges of traveling with young children. From keeping them entertained to ensuring their comfort and safety, it can be a daunting task. One product that has gained popularity among parents is the Stokke Jet Box, a portable sleep and play space designed for travel. But is it really worth the investment? Let's dive into the experiences of parents who have used the Stokke Jet Box while traveling with their toddlers.

The Pros:

  • Portability: One of the biggest advantages of the Stokke Jet Box is its portability. It folds down compactly and can be easily transported as carry-on luggage on most airlines. This makes it convenient for parents who want to have a familiar sleeping environment for their little ones while on the go.
  • Comfortable Sleeping Space: Many parents rave about the Stokke Jet Box's ability to provide a comfortable sleeping space for their toddlers. The mattress is designed to be firm yet cozy, and the sides create a sense of security and coziness. Parents report that their toddlers were able to sleep soundly, even in unfamiliar environments.
  • Versatility: The Stokke Jet Box can be used not only as a sleep space but also as a play area. It comes with a removable mattress, allowing parents to create a safe and contained space for their toddlers to play. This versatility makes it a great investment for families who travel frequently.

The Cons:

  • Price: Let's address the elephant in the room – the Stokke Jet Box is not a budget-friendly item. With a price tag typically ranging from $200 to $300, it's a significant investment for many families. Some parents question whether the cost is truly justified, especially if they only plan to use it for a limited period.
  • Size and Weight: While the Stokke Jet Box is designed to be portable, it's still a bulky item to carry around, especially when combined with other travel essentials. Additionally, its weight can be a consideration for parents who need to navigate through airports or other crowded areas.
  • Limited Space: Although the Stokke Jet Box provides a comfortable sleeping space for toddlers, it may not be suitable for older children or those who tend to move around a lot during sleep. Some parents have reported that their toddlers outgrew the Jet Box relatively quickly.

The Verdict:

Based on the experiences shared by parents, the Stokke Jet Box can be a worthwhile investment for families who travel frequently with toddlers. Its portability, comfort, and versatility make it a convenient option for creating a familiar sleeping and play environment on the go. However, the high price tag and potential size and weight limitations may make it less appealing for families on a budget or those who don't travel as often.

Ultimately, the decision to purchase the Stokke Jet Box will depend on your family's specific needs, travel frequency, and budget. For some parents, the peace of mind and convenience it provides during travel outweigh the cost, while others may find more affordable alternatives that suit their needs just as well.
