Planning an 8 days trip to London, England toward the end of June. Need recommendations on where to stay (both hotels or airbnb) close to the stations. What are the best sightseeing spots (must to see and do)? Would also like to take in a Broadway show while there...any suggestions on which performance is worth to see? Any advice is greatly appreciated

We stayed at the Luna Simone Hotel; I believe it is in Belgravia. Reasonably priced for London; great staff; large British breakfast. Walk to Victoria Station. #24 bus is right out front - goes to Trafalgar and many sites in central London. Very handy. Walk to Buckingham, Westminster Abbey... Victoria Theatre and another are within walking. When we were there, a few years ago, they had Billy Elliot and Wicked. The 24 bus will take you to Leicester and the rest of the theatre district.

Stayed there twice now...love it. Very good location, close to two tube stations. Easy walk to Westminster, Buckingham Palace or Hyde Park. Quiet and good neighbourhood, very safe.

We (my husband, our 21 year old and I) came up with a “wish list” for 7 days in London in early May. Mostly we enjoyed London. You have many good recommendations so I won’t add, but I a word of caution about the Theatre District. We saw so many very intoxicated people, the streets were full of empty bottles n well pretty disgusting stuff. This was 9:30 pm. Their bars close @ 11 pm, so the whole drinking thing is different than ours. Maybe do the Theatre earlier.

I was just in London this past week. I had limited time but places I enjoyed: Kensington Palace and park, Hyde Park, the British Museum, Borough Market. I did not love the Tower of London and the Victoria and Albert museum was so-so.

We always stay near earls court. Reasonable rates, 1 train ride to the airport and central. We’ve stayed at numerous hotels in the area, they were all great.

I used an airbnb at
Fendall Street 22, St vincen house, London, SE1, United Kingdom.
The host was amazing and it was close enough to the London Bridge and train stations!

Go to this chocolate place for dessert and hot drinking chocolate-he’s a chocolatier from Italy and we hit this on a food tour. It was so good I kept going back

Loved Wicked when we were there. I've heard Book of Mormon is hilarious and really good. Definitely get the pass so you can skip lines. I wish I could remember our hotel near Euston station. It was quaint, inexpensive, and about 2 blocks from the station. Nice pub down the block.

We stayed close to the Victoria station and it was great because both the tube and bus stations are there (we did some bus tours around England and could just walk to the stations)

Get the London Pass; it works on the tube and gets you into attractions

The London pass worked great! We had it mailed to our house, used it to get on the Tube from Heathrow to our hotel. It saved us a ton cash. We stayed in Earls Court. Have fun!!

If you have a Costco membership you can order the pass on the Costco UK site and you get 4 attractions for the cost of 3

Buy a Rick Steeves book...it will tell you everything you need to know and it has maps.

Love his books, we stayed at The Windermere Hotel a close walk to Victoria Station.

Corinne He likes that area. We have stayed closer to other major stations and they feel “grubbier” and not as safe. We use Ricks books all the time and its my #1 go to comment to people going to Europe. We have done whole vacations just following his books and had a great, uneventful time.

Definitely recommend this! Tickets to most shows for much cheaper than online. I was just there a week ago and saw Kinky Boots, Matilda and Chicago. They were all amazing!

I stayed at an airbnb in Mile End when I was there last fall. Quite close to the tube station and the host knew like every restaurant in the city.
