twice,,its a great resort,,awsome staff,,great rates
Jim
and you can use the RIU Vallarta next door as well.
Jeff
I was there once and liked it. Fun and relaxed. With Riu you kind of know what you will get and can't really go wrong. But it is a big spread out resort. Pool and beaches are a bit away from most rooms, but that is hardly much of a problem.

Thanks guys, we just booked a last minute vacay and I'm so nervous. Some of the reviews on trip advisor have been disconcerting.
Kam
It's nice! We have been there! Had dinner and drinks.. From what I can remember lol!
Annelie
Where did you find the deal? I'm looking for a last minute vacation
Sweety
It was on sunwing and kids are free. That's why the Hubz booked it so quick without consulting me properly haha
Annelie
Awesome thanks for sharing!

Stayed in 2002 long time ago. Never going back. Not sure if it improved?
Sweety
They have renovated. I called them and upgraded my room and such. Fingers crossed.

When we went security was our main concern. About a week before we arrived a man was killed "falling" from his balcony. It was very controversial and not an accident to the mans family. Just don't go off alone. Stay together.
While we were there the main bar just off the resort check in roof collapsed on a bunch of people. The roof was repaired within 24 hrs and no pictures were allowed. We had lots of ants in our room. And locals came on to the beach. The locals kids were instructed by their parents to steal your belongings like your shoes. So I think if you just pay attention, stay aware of your surroundings and stay together all should go fine. Also, we stayed 2 weeks, found the food repetitive after 1 week. This was our first time to an all inclusive. Would also not recommend walking to the neighbouring town. It's a little village, cannot remember the names started with a B. Had a little outdoor market but we were the only tourists there. Very uncomfortable. Also leave your expensive jewellery at home. Now we know. Hope you have a great trip!

Bucerias ... And just be careful like you are at home ... ( I feel safer in Puerto Vallarta / Bucerias than in Calgary ... And yes there are vendors on the beach but a simple no gracias and they will leave you alone ... have fun !!!
Annelie
I'm sure it will be amazing! Enjoy the heat...
Sandy
We have stayed at all three of the Rius at Nueva Vallarta. The Palace is our favourite, but all three are beautiful and clean!
Bailey
Agreed - go to Bucerias, nothing to be afraid of
Annelie
Bucerias is the name of the town Tanya is speaking of and it lovely.

Love Bucerias, it's my favorite. In the evening, there is an art walk that's super fun, and the serious restaurants there are amazing! I travel A LOT, and I really liked the Riu. The chef actually nave me churros at the buffet twice as I loved then so much! Walking distance to a Mega, which is

We've been to Bucerias lots of times and just loved it. Actually, we were there at Easter once too. People were fantastic and we had tons of fun
Alethea
like Wal-Mart for snacks.
Sandy
If you go into Bucerias, make sure you go to YoYoMos. It is a sports bar owned by a expatriot, he is a Canadian and exmilitary friend of ours.

Sounds fab. Thanks for the too

Definitely go to Yoyo Mo's. Best pizza you will ever eat. Glen, the owner is a great guy.

One of our favourite places in Mexico. You can't go wrong with the Riu family owned hotels. We've been in many and more than once. Bucerias, I regard as the safest place in Mexico. Quaint fishing village with a terrific market. We have walked there both by beach and by road, perfectly safe during the day. We have been to Riu Jalisco, once in it's first year and around 2009. So it's been a few years but I have heard it was renovated. We have stayed in various hotels in the Bay of Banderas and on every trip we visit Bucerias. Hope you enjoy !!
Denise
If you are looking at any excursions The pirate ship tour is loads of fun, especially if children are with you, or Rhythm of the Nights is exciting and has a good meal.
Sweety
Oh than sounds so fun! I will check it out.
Deborah
Don't even hesitate. Not overly large but absolutely excellent.
Debra
Double check the Canadian government's travel.gc.ca for Canadian tourists for that area/s of Mexico right now.
Julie
We stayed there in 2011 it was excellent, no complaints. I think you will have a great time.
Lynn
