Go to the new Service Canada location on Broadway. It was empty midday when I went in November.

and quickest is directly at a Passport Office rather than a Receiving Agent - here is a list http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/passport/map/map.asp

I’ve never waited very long in Richmond.

If you go to the actual passport office, you can get it within 10 days. If you go to a service Canada location, it can take 4-6 weeks. I used to work for Passport Canada. Don't go on a Pro-D-Day when schools are out. Best time of the day in Surrey is about 330pm

I went to the Service Canada office on Gilmore in Burnaby. In and out in 30 minutes and had my passport within two weeks

You're lucky then.

I went to the same office and it took a month. There's different waits depending on volume.
Sinclair Centre Passport office is fast if you can get there right before doors open in the morning. Quickest turnaround time.

at Sinclair, be ready to spend 1 hour in line up. Just did it two weeks ago. Surrey location takes 20-30 mins max.

There's no such bad one. Go in the mid week, at noon to avoid congestion.

I applied for my 10yr passport at Surrey Central Mall on Dec 23, 2016 after work between 4-4.30pm & they told me not to hold my breath as they were promising Jan 10, 2017 or later delivery dates. Got passport pics next door & in & out of passport office in less than 15 mins & my passport arrived in the mail on Dec 30, 2016. Best $160 or whatever fees I've ever paid!

Best Place to Get Your Passport in Vancouver

Passport Canada Office

The Passport Canada office in Vancouver is located at:

401 Burrard Street

Vancouver, BC V6C 3S4

The office is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm.

To apply for a passport at the Passport Canada office, you will need to bring the following documents:

  • Completed passport application form
  • Two passport-sized photos
  • Proof of citizenship (e.g., birth certificate, Canadian passport, citizenship card)
  • Proof of identity (e.g., driver's license, social insurance card)
  • Payment for the passport fee

The passport fee is $120 for adults and $50 for children under 16.

You can also apply for a passport online at the Passport Canada website.

Service Canada Centre

You can also get your passport at a Service Canada Centre. There are several Service Canada Centres in Vancouver, including:

  • Broadway Service Canada Centre
  • Cambie Street Service Canada Centre
  • Downtown Vancouver Service Canada Centre
  • Hastings Street Service Canada Centre

To apply for a passport at a Service Canada Centre, you will need to bring the same documents as you would to the Passport Canada office.

The passport fee is the same at Service Canada Centres as it is at the Passport Canada office.

You can also apply for a passport online at the Service Canada website.

Which option is best for me?

If you need your passport quickly, you should apply at the Passport Canada office. The office is open Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm, and you can get your passport the same day if you pay an additional fee.

If you don't need your passport quickly, you can apply online or at a Service Canada Centre. The processing time for online applications is currently 4-6 weeks, and the processing time for applications submitted at a Service Canada Centre is currently 2-4 weeks.
