It’s been quite awhile since we were there. It was already very expensive then. We initially stayed at The Warwick on the Coral Coast, which is a 5 star hotel - but we didn’t know it would be undergoing noisy renovations, so we were eventually able to move to Treasure Island Resort. Night and day difference. The sea is crystal clear and vibrant blue with white sand surrounding the outer islands. (Not on the Coral Coast. There, snorkelling visibility was limited and we encountered large sea snakes.)
Our accommodation on Treasure Island was a deluxe thatched roof bure on our own section of beach. We could kayak over to another island for a visit.
It was truly paradise, but if we were to return to Fiji, we would choose to go on one of the small boat cruises that you stay on for up to a week and explore the outer islands. There are also day cruises from Nadi if you can’t change your accommodation.
Fijian people are very friendly, lots of smiles. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Thank you Christine!

Would highly recommend the Yasawa islands. If you think you might make it up there, let me know and I can give you more info! I lived/volunteered up there for 3 months a few years ago.

Coral Coast and Nadi has the most beautiful beaches. Denarau is s popular place for tourists and it's in Nadi. Alot of the day cruises operate from Denarau and I would highly recommend taking one of these cruises. Suva City is the capital and is more of shopping and if you looking to stay in Suva, then the Holiday Inn is recommended as it also comes with a full buffet breakfast. There aren't tours to the villages which will give you a real Fijian Traditional touch. I would not recommend driving as it's kinda crazy there but it's reasonable to hire a taxi driver to give a tour for the day.You can bargain the prices with the taxi driver. There are many restaurants with variety of food and very reasonable prices. Fresh fruit and vegetables are available at the local market.Fijians are very humble and friendly. Hope you enjoy your stay!
