Are you staying at a resort? It was a while ago but I recall the milk was the kind in the tetra packs (UHT) so totally safe. I got those bottles with the disposable plastic liners for the trip so I didn’t have to worry about sterilizing and washed the nipples in the bathroom sink. Then used hot water from the coffee maker in the room or tea making facilities at the buffet to “sterilize” them. Bring dish soap and dish towels with you!

Check to see if she's old enough for the oral vaccine Dukoral. (Good for the adults too). No prescription needed. Protects against E. coli (traveler's diarrhea). Very helpful. Tastes gross if you can get it into them
Michael
To get the full coverage type a prescription is needed
Heather
Michael worth every penny... and many plans cover no vaccines at all. Mine included. We've used Dukoral several times in tropical climates and always glad we did
Heather
Melissa Ann just looked that up too. Two years old and up
Michael
Heather same here

Too bad. It's awesome. No prescription needed anyway. I'm a nurse. Most docs are way out of date when it comes to vaccines
Charmain
Just brought my little one to doc and she gave hep a vaccine.

If you are at All Inclusive resort, I think you are fine. We have taken little ones several times, without issue.
Heather
Where is good one to go for inclusive resorts
Sharron
We have travelled quite a bit and Huatulco is by far favourite!
Heather
Is that allclusive hotels
Sharron
Heather we stayed at Dreams Huatulco. Yes, All Inclusive
Heather
Thanks so much so helpful
Sharron
Can suggest a couple of non-Inclusive if that is what you are looking for. Both include breakfast.
Heather
Ya sure is expensive with all inclusive
Heather
I will keep looking

Love huatulco! Villablanca is a nice non- all inclusive. Binniguenda is another - while most folks there go the ai route you can apparently go non ai ( could a few years ago - maybe changed).
Sharron
Check out Villas Fa Sol. Not AI but gorgeous property.
Heather
Thanks I will I apprecicated it
Maud
Robin was at the Binnie in November.. you can do both ai and not ai... we loved it here!

Tips for Traveling with a Toddler to Mexico
Traveling with a young child can be both exciting and challenging, especially when visiting a new country. Here are some tips to help make your trip to Mexico with your 1.5-year-old as smooth and enjoyable as possible:
Water and Bottle Hygiene
- Bottle Sterilization: Pack a portable bottle sterilizer or bring disposable bottle liners to ensure your child's bottles are properly sanitized. Alternatively, you can boil water and immerse the bottles for several minutes to sterilize them.
- Water Safety: It's generally recommended to avoid drinking tap water in Mexico, even when brushing teeth or preparing formula. Instead, opt for bottled water or purified water from a trusted source.
- Hand Washing: Carry hand sanitizer and encourage frequent hand washing, especially before handling bottles or preparing food for your child.
Food and Milk
- Pasteurized Milk: Most milk sold in major cities and tourist areas in Mexico is pasteurized and safe for consumption. However, it's best to double-check the packaging or inquire with your hotel or resort staff.
- Packed Foods: Consider packing your child's favorite snacks and non-perishable foods to ensure they have familiar and safe options when feeling picky or homesick.
- Fruits and Vegetables: Opt for produce that can be peeled or cooked to minimize the risk of foodborne illnesses.
Other Travel Tips
- Vaccines and Medications: Consult your pediatrician about any necessary vaccinations or medications, such as anti-malarial drugs, depending on your travel destinations within Mexico.
- Sunscreen and Insect Repellent: Pack child-friendly sunscreen and insect repellent to protect your little one from the sun and mosquitoes.
- Comfortable Clothing: Dress your child in loose, breathable clothing and pack extra layers for cooler evenings or air-conditioned spaces.
- Travel Documents: Ensure you have all necessary travel documents, including passports and any required visas or entry permits.
Remember, flexibility and patience are key when traveling with young children. Embrace the adventure and create wonderful memories with your little one in Mexico!

Hi everyone, taking the little one (1.5 yr old) to Mexico in 2 weeks. Anyone have tips? (washing her bottles, sterilization, is the milk pasteurized...) thanks in advance!
