All 379 people on JAL flight 516, including eight children under the age of two, were safely evacuated Jan 2nd because of the outstanding training and heroic dedication to their profession by the JAL crew. I want to express gratitude to all flight crews around the world for their hard work and dedication to repeated safety training. We passengers don't often get a chance to acknowledge your work properly: thank you thank you thank you.

Another good reason to pay attention when FA’s give their safety speech…maybe actually count how many seats to the closest exit in the event of smoke or darkness…I’ve never needed to know but it just takes a few moments to be aware…just in case.

Importantly, the passengers did NOT attempt to take their carry on bags off the plane and instead left them all behind.

Absolutely!!! The flight crew did an amazing job!!! It is important to note that the passengers paid attention and respected the flight crew and the instructions they were giving. Could have been much worse if there was a stampede to the doors.

It was a great effort by everyone. If that would of happened here, half the people would of went for their carry-ons and the other half would of burned. So well discipline, these Japanese people.

And well done JAL for the concise safety speech / video. air canada please take note - it’s really not necessary to combine safety with tourism promotion. It makes it too long. And perhaps English and French could be done separately for the sake of brevity / maximum attention.

Bravo to the JAL crew who evacuated 367 passengers and 12 crew with only 3 usable exits! Bravo to the passengers who stayed calm and followed instructions-No cabin luggage was removed. For each person who opens an overhead bin and tries to take their luggage could mean a few lives who don’t make it out safely.

Having lived in Japan you see first hand how polite, courteous and disciplined Japanese people are. They would never question instructions or rules. I’m afraid it would have been a very different outcome if it had happened anywhere else.
Both the flight crew and the passengers did an outstanding job in which the whole world should take note of a perfectly executed emergency evacuation.
