Traveling from Paris to Morocco

Booked a return flight to Paris for August, and want to go to Morocco. Easyjet and Ryanair are not giving very affordable prices to Marrakesh/Fez, so we're thinking of hitting up some south of France/Spain along the way.

For train travel in France, you should look into SNCF (French National Railway Company). In Spain, the main train company is Renfe. These companies offer a variety of routes and options for traveling between cities.

The France-Spain Eurail Pass typically covers 4 days of travel within a 2-month period. Whether or not such passes are worth it depends on your specific travel plans and how many train journeys you plan to take. If flying to Fez is ultimately cheaper at around $300-400 round trip, that may be a more cost-effective option for you. However, keep in mind the additional time and transportation costs required to get to and from the airports.

Another option to consider is taking a ferry from Barcelona to Tangiers. While you mentioned a roundtrip cost of $200, it's worth checking different ferry companies and schedules to see if there are any cheaper options available.

The discount airline we used was Vueling, and it's based out of Spain. Spain's train system is Renfe. We did not find rail passes to be worth it, so we went with single trip tickets as we had a mixed itinerary. Keep in mind that airports are located outside of town and will require extra wait time, and taxi-bus time to get to the center of town. Whereas, trains will take you right to the centre.
