I am flying to Paris this week with a girlfriend and continuing to Nice for a few days. We are flying Westjet from Nanaimo to Paris. Then airfrance to Nice. The flight to nice was about $80 return.

We booked our accommodation through vrbo. Much cheaper than hotels and you have the comforts of home (washer/dryer, kitchen).

there are usually great deals flying into London Heathrow. It might be worth it to fly into LHR and take a very short train ride into Paris.

Thanks LHR in August is pricier than Paris but def a good idea!

Just got back from Paris this weekend. However I flew into Heathrow like Jan mentioned above. Took the Eurostar train back from Paris to London. By the time you go, the train strike should be over. Getting to the train stations is much more convenient and much easier to get to then the airports.

Last fall, we took the train from Paris to Nice, then to Monaco. Check out sncf's website for deals. I got an online deal for $9.90 euro(!) - one way Paris to Nice ... they have flash sales.... Also, be aware that transport system in France have periodic strikes "greves" ... luckily they don't ALL shut down. Our train was affected, but we ended up getting on the TGV fast train at no additional cost due to the 'greve"

I fly to Paris from Vancouver with Air transat as low as $800 than I take the TGV train south to Aix en Provence (3 hours), than a beautiful drive it train or bus to Cannes , Nice and half an hour more to Monte Carlo and you can go back to Paris to fly home or fly home from Nice

Thanks so much everyone!!!
