Vacations I find are usually super cheap to go in September and October, just when everyone starts going back to school and work. I've seen flights to Paris in those months for $150 round trip, Thailand for $420, 4 star all inclusives in Maya Riviera including round trip for $560, 7 days and round trip to Honolulu for $480, the sky's the limit for those months lol

We only have 5 days so I think Europe and Thailand are out but I do like the idea of hawaii

Wow! Where did you see flights to Paris for $150??

Yvr deals had it showing for around 150, also saw it on itravel2000 for around 250 and expedia once around 180. Just have to keep looking and checking, alot of the times they are flash deals, just like the $480 Honolulu trip at a hotel in front of a park beach that was 4stars. I actually lost out on that one because I had to help my mom pick apples, came back and the deal was gone only after 20mins, went back to 920 (which is still relatively cheap)

Tuesday, Wed and Thursday day time is usually cheaper than shopping on weekends I find.

Leaving on (flights) a Tuesday is generally cheaper I find than leaving on other days of the week

What a delicious question, Charity! Because I don't have infinite money or vacation time, I'm as much an armchair traveller as a real traveller. Planning is half the fun!
I've had excellent trips to BC's backcountry in September. Mosquitoes have been killed by the first frost, the fall rains haven't settled in yet and the parks and Crown land are pretty much empty. Try Wells Gray Provincial Park.

Vegas, weather in sept is hot but tolerable and it’s low season so hotel rates are cheap and pools/strip aren’t crowded.

Get a nice Airbnb in Penticton or Summerland and do wine country. I have all the best patios I can recommend and now also a few good breweries. Even Dirty Laundry vineyard does craft beer now. Walk or bike the KVR trail and bring home some fresh fruit and tomatoes too. Perfect 5 days. We do it end of sept start of October for a few years now. A 4 or 5 hour drive and you are there.

Is money a question? There are SO MANY local adventures in BC without dealing with the exchange rate. 5 days is too few for Hawaii - I’d be tempted for sun to go to either SF, Vegas or Phoenix (air B&B with your own pool is soooo cheap).
Local I agree with okanagan wine country, whistler or come over to my back yard on Vancouver Island! I have a million suggestions over here

Not wasting time travelling.

VRBO 388619. PM me or call. Get my number from BiBi.
It’s about a 4.5 hr flight from here. Our place is 2 blocks to walk to beach about 4 blocks to town.
There are several great restaurants all around & we have a full kitchen.
It’s very safe there as the government has sent a very heavy police presents to weed out cartel.

Sort of what I said but I prefer Penticton and the Naramata bench , Summerland for Dirty Laundry (one of 2 fave patios) and also access to south of lake to Nkimp and Road 13. So awesome. And the ability to walk the KVR right out your door.

Where to Go for a 5-Day Getaway in September?

Having 5 days off in the middle of September is a perfect opportunity for a quick getaway with your spouse. There are so many amazing destinations to choose from, depending on your interests and preferences.

Option 1: Beach Getaway in Hawaii

Why not escape to the beautiful beaches of Hawaii for some sun, sand, and relaxation? With its clear blue waters, lush landscapes, and vibrant culture, Hawaii offers the perfect setting for a romantic getaway. You can spend your days lounging on the beach, exploring the island, and enjoying delicious Hawaiian cuisine.

Option 2: City Break in New York City

If you prefer a more urban escape, New York City is a fantastic option. From world-class museums and Broadway shows to iconic landmarks like Central Park and the Statue of Liberty, there is no shortage of things to see and do in the Big Apple. You can also indulge in some shopping, dining at top restaurants, and taking romantic walks along the city streets.

Option 3: Nature Retreat in the Rocky Mountains

For a more outdoorsy getaway, consider heading to the Rocky Mountains for some fresh mountain air and stunning scenery. You can go hiking, biking, or simply relax in a cozy cabin surrounded by nature. The Rocky Mountains offer a peaceful and serene setting for a romantic escape.

Option 4: European Adventure in Paris

If you're looking for a touch of romance and culture, Paris is the perfect destination. Explore the charming streets of Paris, visit iconic landmarks like the Eiffel Tower and Louvre Museum, and indulge in delicious French cuisine. Paris is known as the City of Love for a reason, making it an ideal spot for a romantic getaway.

Ultimately, the best destination for your 5-day getaway in September will depend on your preferences and interests as a couple. Whether you choose a beach escape, city break, nature retreat, or European adventure, the most important thing is to enjoy quality time together and create lasting memories.
