The Sylvia
Nicole
Thank you! Will look in to this!
Jodi
Nikki Webber no pool but there is a (cheaper) older side and a new part. It's charming - adjoining rooms may be an option as well, but definitely over the budget
Nicole
Was just quoted $175 - thank you for the lead!
Tracey
Beautiful hotel but no pool there.
Jodi
Nikki Webber right on! It's right in Stanley Park basically - sweet spot
Angela
It's a beautiful hotel, great bar, nice restaurant, and everything is in walking distance. I've stayed there myself a couple of times and I highly recommend it!
Alison
Westin Bayshore?
Peter
Tracey "Beautiful hotel but no pool there"
The Pacific Ocean is about 50' away with a beautiful beach at English Bay.
Tracey
Yea i forgot to add that lol
Siobhan
no pool but only a few mins walk to the Van Aquatic Centre!
Nola
Um no not for $200 night. Hotel by the sea wall? Nothing comes to mind espec with small kids.
Amber
Granville Island Hotel on Granville Island.
Jodi
Great spot
Siobhan
but then you have to ride bikes over Burrard bridge...
Amber
Oh, but that won't be under $200.
Nicole
Close enough... just looked it up and I'll be giving them a call. Thank you!
Amber
No pool, I don't think. But if you're on Granville Island there's lots to do there with the Kids Market, park, seawall, shops, etc.
Paulette
There used to be a Coast Plaza hotel on Denman street that had a pool - don't know if it is still there - have no idea about bike storage
Paulette
I seem to remember that there is also a Best Western hotel nearby as well
Natasha
Coast is still there yes.
Nola
Mediocre 3 star hotel far from the seawall costs $189 night in Burnaby thats an average cost. Vancouver is NOT cheap
Lin
The Sylvia is fantastic but no pool
Nicole
My kids can get over it... that building is a beauty!
Lin
Best lounge in town
Jodi
Lin it is!!!!!!
Lin
Because there is the pool at 2nd beach
Siobhan
they are there in spring so won't be open. Van Aquatic Centre though
Karen
Check out Pinnacle at the Pier in North Vancouver. Only a short sea bus ride across to Vancouver ( near the seawall), right next to the Londsdale Market ( perfect for exploring, food and treats), and a great swimming pool too! I love it with the kids
Tiffany
And the quay in north van is great for kids and great restaurants on the pier at the quay!!! I would stay there for sure !
Crysta
there's a pinnacle hotel in coal hardbour too if you want to bike all around the park to the other side of the ocean.

Thank you everyone! I'll be calling the sylvia and the granville island hotel. My top priority is not deviating too far into traffic
Jasmine
Those are the two i was going to suggest! Glad they've been mentioned!
Siobhan
Granville island is not a good place to avoid traffic! but you can ride on seawall from there.
Kar
There is a Sandman on Davie st, while not "on" the seawall it's not too far. It's an all suite hotel which is nice with kids. Also, the Westin Bayshore is in Stanley park and very bike friendly, however big price tag. Having kids myself I much prefer having the comforts of home, so an airbnb in Olympic Village or near Granville Island would probably be my pick.
Nicole
Just booked the Sylvia - just a head's up if you're interested - they have a special bike lock facility and are providing complimentary cribs for each of my twin babies. Super friendly. Thank you everyone for the great advice!
Jodi
Enjoy!
Sharon
You won't be disappointed. Charming old world kind of place, plus the windows actually open!
Sharon
I'm a local and if I want to go on a local vacay, that's my spot!
Angela
You'll love it!
Sharon
Cycle to Telus World of Science(aka Science World) and then the south side of False Creek all the way to Spanish Banks(2-3 hrs round trip and flat).
Amber
With the littles, make sure you take the Aquabus/Granville Island Ferry around False Creek as well. It's a fun way to see the inlet. You can take it from just past the Aquatic Centre on the downtown side and do a tour or get off in Olympic Village, Granville Island, etc. Some of them can accommodate bikes as. When my son was little, we used to take the Aquabus to the Yaletown stop and then walk up the street to the Roundhouse Community Centre a block off the seawall and they have an old full size refurbished steam train there that the wee ones can explore. It's permanently parked indoors so it's not running but it's free and was always a big hit with my son.
Nancy

Sharron

Judy
Stayed at the Sylvia in November in a suite with two queen beds innone room and a smaller room with a single. It was great.
See
The Sylvia can be decently priced and has a great location in English Bay close to Denman and Davie.
Really cool old hotel.
Jenn
Second that!

Not flight related... can a Vancouverite recommend me a hotel directly on the seawall (between Stanley Park and Granville Island)? We are planning a cycling trip for later this spring - we will have three *very* small children with us and would like to avoid cycling with traffic if at all possible. So... as close to the seawall as possible, preferably under $200 a night, secure spot for bike storage, and maybe a pool for our little ones? I'm not terribly familiar with this p… See more
