Heading to Tokyo for the first time very soon!! I am specifically looking for FOOOOOD recommendations in Tokyo - Wagyu/Kobe Beef Sandwich, belt sushi, UNI, desserts etc thank you!!

There's delicious food everywhere you look. I recommend just opening up Tabelog when you're hungry and search the surrounding area for well-rated restaurants. It's hard to go wrong, we always just eat wherever it looks good and it's always good.

Hit up Tsukiji Market for all different types of delish.
Go into every bakery you see. You’ll eat the most fresh and delicious sweet and savoury treats.
Also, hot tip: at 7-11 all the ready made food and baked goods are amazing! I’d never eat anything from 7-11 in Canada but in Japan the food there is great when you need a bit of a take away snack.

Yes, combini food is fabulous. We always get it for a quick breakfast, then sometimes as a late-night snack. Combini fried chicken is way more delicious than it should be.

Sukiyabashi Jiro - best sushi, but wil have a lineup, remember to take a waiting ticket

Check out Nakajima, a sardine-themed affordable Michelin Star restaurant.
Muji store restaurant, which actually has decent food.
Also, order ramen in a restaurant from a vending machine just for the experience of doing so.

Hakushu Teppanyaki (near Shibuya), Sushi Dai (Tsukiji market), Sushi Zanmai (Tsukiji market), Tsurutontan (Udon in Ginza), Katsumidori Seibu Shibuya (conveyor belt sushi in Shibuya). The best beef I had in Japan was outside the ballpark in Chiba. The best advice is to follow the locals and see where you end up!

Try warm tee from vending machines. Udon noodles are good, Japanese sweet omelette. I would avoid eating food at fish market as it is quite expensive and not as tasty as from food courts of departmental stores. All food court start end of day sales at 1pm. You can’t go wrong with Tuna any where in Tokyo

Buy subway pass from airport, it is cheaper. If you buy it from somewhere is city you have to show your passport. Talking about passport, if you want to do duty free shopping, which is every where, carry your passport.

If you have Amazon Prime, I just watched an episode on "I'll Have What Phil's Having" set in Tokyo. It's all about food.

If you like gyoza there is a place in the Harajuku district called harajuku gyoza it was recommended and I loved it. Just got home from backpacking through japan and had an amazing time, very safe. Are you only staying in Tokyo?

Tabelog is very useful. Pretty much everything is good. I didn’t find it was super worth going out of the way to particular places. Quality is high across the board
