Vegas is cheap to get too but once your there it’s super expensive especially because our dollar is so horrible. I suggest staying in canada
Ashley

Hey Wendy. I'm in the same boat. I tried posting the same thing on this page, but it didn't go through. Can you let me know what you discover? I'm looking for a 3 day HOT place to take my 10 year old daughter to. I'm a single dad. (hotel, pool, palm tree... I'm good!)
Judy
The Royal Palladian in Puerto Vallarta has a really good set up for adults and kids. My daughter took her boys there when they were 9 & 13. They all had a really good time
Brenda
Our granddaughter loves Palm Springs, great pools, lots of Palm trees, three hour nonstop flight. Tons of restaurants, a great zoo for kids. Very warm here, compared to LA or Vegas
Kirk
Judy if I was going to put that much time and effort in, I think I would do a Disney cruise. I'm just looking for a quick weekend getaway. Fairly inexpensive, short queen trip. Things like that. Literally check into a hotel that has a pool outside.
Kirk
Brenda thank you. Yes, that sounds great. I've been searching different places. Didn't know if a good place was Phoenix? La? Just needed a place that had Palm Trees, Hotel, pool.
Brenda
Palm Springs is much hotter, high 30s right now, and a little airport that you get the car right outside. Phoenix area is massive, huge freeways. We much prefer the ease and simplicity of Palm Springs.
Kirk
Brenda thank you
Nadine
Palm Springs for sure- but it will start cooling off mid nov!
Shelley
Kirk, west Edmonton mall...has a water park
Kirk
Shelley LOL. That's not really a vacation to me.
Tracy
Anaheim and you could also do Disney for a day
Sima
Palm Springs is easy with direct flights.
Chris
Use flights.google.ca to check for the cheapest price. If prices are close make sure you compare bag fees as well.
Kari
A lot of pools are closed in Vegas though. But you can spot the Canadians sitting around it still...lol
Brenda
True so disappointing
Kari
Brenda but I have done a weekend in Vegas in Dec. Lots to do and see if you want. Day trip to Grand Canyon even is nice on the bus.
Lin

For heat, and safety, I suggest Huatulco if you want outside the USA.

We LOVED San Diego! I found California to be more relaxing and cheaper than Vegas. Vegas is good if she needs to drink, but San Diego had a lot of 1-5$ wine bottles.
Kari
Ashley I also loved San Diego. Found tons to do and spend a day just lounging around the pool at the end of November a few years ago. OR picnic in Balboa park
Ashley
I love Balboa Park!
There is so much to do and it was relatively inexpensive.
Ashley
We went in February... for Canadians it isn't cold.
Amy
Baha Mexico cruise out of L.A. There are 3-4 day options. Quick, easy and relatively inexpensive vacation, food and entertainment are all inclusive.
Wendy
Where would I look this up?
Amy
Carnival Cruise for sure offers this itinerary, not sure about other cruise lines. https://www.carnival.com

Vacations to go..last minute deals
Jan
I agree to check ‘Vacations to go’. We got good deal on Princess Cruise from SF to Mexico - Puerto Vallarta, manzanilla, Mazatlan, and Cabo San Lucas. They represent most cruises and various routes.
Wendy
Thank you everyone for your suggestions. It will be a 4 day trip at the most. I am taking care of my grandson so don't need a child friendly place. I was wondering about the weather in November for hanging out in the pools. Something like what Kirk is looking for. Palm trees, heat and a pool.
Ashley
Wendy, have you been to Vegas before?
Wendy
I have been many years ago but am looking for idea's for my grown daughter.
Tracie
Phoenix or Palm Springs. Short flight and much quieter than Vegas- if she truly wants some downtime.
Tracie
20 + But u never know with our crazy weather systems.
Garry
Cabo San Lucas
Nancy
I agree with Cabo, nice short flight, beautiful weather. Tesoro is a great place right on the marina. Has a great pool
Kim
a close flight 2-3 hrs is bermuda we went and it was wonderful and they have all kinds of deals for 3-4 days the island is safe and very friendly and they all the pools you could want!!
Stacey
Bermuda is far more than 3 hours and not direct. You fly via Toronto and then it’s 2 1/2 hours. The weather in the winter in Bermuda isn’t beach weather either. If you’ve got a week and a big budget, Bermuda is amazing though.

Come to Costa Rica! We moved to Playas del Coco from Calgary and love it ! We have rentals that sound perfect!
Kari

I will attach the links to my rental units on airbnb. You can of course book directly. We have a triplex that is awesome for small groups. It can sleep 9. It is like booking a 4 bedroom/4 bath house with a private pool but there are 3 kitchens and separate bathrooms. Most people like traveling with family or friends but don't necessarily want to share the kitchen and bathrooms. The other is a cute townhouse with a rooftop terrace

The Perfect Getaway for Your Daughter: Relaxation and Rejuvenation
As a single mom, your daughter deserves a well-deserved break from the daily grind. While Las Vegas can be an exciting destination, it might not provide the tranquil atmosphere she's seeking. Here are some alternative suggestions for a relaxing 3 or 4-day getaway:
Beach Resort
Consider booking her a stay at a beachfront resort or a cozy beach town. The soothing sound of the waves, the warmth of the sun, and the opportunity to lounge by the pool or on the beach can be incredibly restorative. Popular beach destinations like Cancun, Hawaii, or the Florida Keys offer a range of resort options with amenities like spas, yoga classes, and delicious cuisine.
Spa Retreat
If your daughter is seeking true relaxation and pampering, a spa retreat could be the perfect escape. Many spa resorts offer all-inclusive packages with luxurious accommodations, therapeutic massages, facials, and wellness activities like yoga and meditation. These retreats often provide a serene, peaceful environment that promotes stress relief and rejuvenation. Destinations like Sedona, Arizona, or Palm Springs, California, are known for their excellent spa resorts.
Mountain Getaway
For those who find solace in nature, a mountain getaway can be an idyllic respite. Renting a cozy cabin or a room at a mountain lodge can provide your daughter with breathtaking views, hiking trails, and a sense of seclusion from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The Smoky Mountains, the Rocky Mountains, or the Appalachian Mountains offer stunning scenery and numerous outdoor activities to help her unwind and reconnect with nature.
Lakeside Resort
If your daughter prefers the tranquility of a lakeside setting, consider booking her a stay at a lakeside resort or a charming lake town. Many resorts offer waterfront accommodations, private beaches, kayaking, fishing, and other water-based activities. Popular destinations like Lake Tahoe, the Finger Lakes region in New York, or the Ozark Mountains in Missouri provide a serene escape with ample opportunities for relaxation.
Whichever destination you choose, make sure to consider your daughter's preferences and interests. A well-planned getaway can provide her with the much-needed rest, rejuvenation, and quality time to recharge her batteries.

Wendy
So my grown daughter is really feeling the need for a 3 or 4 day getaway. She wants to just relax preferable in a pool and recharge from her job, being a single mom and all the other things that daily living throws at you. I suggested Las Vegas?? Any other suggestions.
