May I ask, what constitutes/defines a "baby friendly" country

Thanks for pointing that out maybe I should reword, destinations that have activities that a baby might enjoy. I’d like to take my son to see the world but I’m not sure where yet as he’s pretty young.

Vietnam and Thailand are both very child friendly, safe and affordable. Be ready for people to come hug your child, lol.

**Baby-Friendly Backpacking Activities**

Backpacking with a baby can be a fantastic way to bond with your little one and create lasting memories. However, it's essential to plan carefully to ensure your trip is safe and enjoyable for both you and your baby.

Here are some tips for baby-friendly backpacking:

  • Choose a destination that is appropriate for your baby's age and abilities. Avoid trails that are too long or challenging, and make sure there are plenty of places to stop and rest along the way.
  • Pack light. You'll be carrying your baby, so you don't want to weigh yourself down with unnecessary gear. Bring only the essentials, such as diapers, wipes, food, water, and a first-aid kit.
  • Bring a comfortable baby carrier. This will allow you to keep your baby close while you're hiking, freeing up your hands to use trekking poles or take photos.
  • Take breaks often. Babies need to eat, sleep, and play, so don't try to push yourself too hard. Take breaks throughout the day to rest, feed your baby, and change their diaper.
  • Be prepared for anything. Even the best-planned trips can have unexpected events, so it's essential to be prepared for anything. Bring extra diapers, wipes, food, and water, and have a plan for what to do if your baby gets sick or injured.

With a little planning and preparation, you can have a fantastic backpacking trip with your baby. Here are a few experiences from other parents who have backpacked with their babies:

**Experience 1:**

"We backpacked with our 6-month-old daughter in the Grand Canyon. We did a 3-day, 2-night trip, and it was amazing! Our daughter loved being carried in the baby carrier and enjoyed the beautiful scenery. We took breaks often to feed and change her, and we made sure to bring plenty of extra diapers and wipes. We also brought a small tent for her to sleep in at night, and she slept great!"

**Experience 2:**

"We backpacked with our 1-year-old son in the Smoky Mountains. We did a 4-day, 3-night trip, and it was a lot of fun! Our son was able to walk some of the way, but we also carried him in the baby carrier when he got tired. We brought plenty of snacks and toys to keep him entertained, and we made sure to take breaks often to let him play and explore. We also brought a small potty for him to use, and he quickly learned how to use it."

**Experience 3:**

"We backpacked with our 2-year-old daughter in the Yosemite Valley. We did a 2-day, 1-night trip, and it was a great way to introduce her to backpacking. Our daughter was able to hike most of the way on her own, and she loved playing in the waterfalls and streams. We brought a small backpack for her to carry her own snacks and toys, and she was very proud to help out!"

Backpacking with a baby can be a challenging but rewarding experience. With a little planning and preparation, you can have a fantastic trip that your whole family will enjoy.
