You get what you pay for - lukewarm food, long line to get in and even longer wait for food & drinks. The only thing they have going for them is cheap food.
Melanie

I live in Whistler and have walked the Train Wreck trail half a dozen times in the past month. You may want something beefier than “cruising bikes” to ride Train Wreck, or maybe consider walking Train Wreck and enjoy your “cruising bikes” on the paved Valley Trail, which runs the entire length of Whistler.
Esther
Margaret we plan on walking the train wreck trail and cruising around the trails in the village. Thanks for the warning though.
Sami
Depending on your budget, the Rim Rock is a MUST.
Kathryn
Rim Rock Cafe
Joe
I think the trail you're thinking of is "Runaway Train". I agree with Margaret... not for cruising bikes. Mountain bikes only. It's rated as a black diamond trail requiring some trials skills. Better to walk it if you're keen...
Esther
Joe yes we plan on walking it,

Gwena

The cure lounge at Nita lake Lodge in Creekside has a vegan menu....the cauliflower is awesome! We cycle from whistler along the valley trail to get there. It's a nice easy bike ride and great patio!
Kathryn
Pure bread in whistler always has some yummy vegan baked goods....if you want a longer ride (ok for cruisers but a longish ride) you can go to function junction where there are 2 vegan friendly breweries!

Exploring Whistler in Early Spring: Activities, Dining, and More
Whistler is a remarkable destination that offers an abundance of activities and experiences throughout the year. As you plan your visit in the early spring, you'll find plenty of opportunities to immerse yourself in the natural beauty and vibrant atmosphere of this renowned resort town.
Outdoor Adventures
While you've already planned to explore the Train Wreck Trail and cruise around the village and paved trails on your bikes, here are some additional outdoor activities to consider:
- Hiking: With the snow starting to melt, early spring is an excellent time to hit the hiking trails. Popular options include the Whistler Valley Trail, Lost Lake Trail, and the Interpretive Forest Trail. Remember to dress in layers and wear proper footwear.
- Snowshoeing: If there's still some snow on the ground, snowshoeing can be a fun and exhilarating way to explore the stunning landscapes. Guided tours are available, or you can rent equipment and venture out on your own.
- Ziplining: For an adrenaline-filled adventure, consider booking a ziplining tour. Whistler offers several ziplining experiences that allow you to soar above the trees and take in breathtaking views.
Vegetarian and Vegan Dining
Whistler has a fantastic selection of vegetarian and vegan-friendly restaurants to cater to your dietary preferences. Here are some highly recommended options:
- Earls Kitchen + Bar: This popular casual dining spot offers a dedicated vegetarian and vegan menu with a variety of delicious options, including plant-based burgers, bowls, and salads.
- The Green Moustache: This organic, plant-based eatery is a must-visit for vegans and health-conscious foodies. They serve hearty, flavorful dishes like veggie bowls, burgers, and smoothies.
- Naked Sprout: Located in the heart of the village, Naked Sprout offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere, serving up delectable vegetarian and vegan fare made with locally sourced ingredients.
Après-Ski and Nightlife
After a day of outdoor adventures, unwind and indulge in Whistler's vibrant après-ski and nightlife scene:
- Longhorn Saloon: This lively bar and grill is famous for its legendary après-ski parties, featuring live music, drinks, and a fun, energetic atmosphere.
- Handlebar Café & Après: Offering a cozy and welcoming vibe, this café and bar is an excellent spot to grab a craft beer or cocktail while enjoying live music and socializing with fellow visitors.
- Beacon Pub & Eatery: For a more laid-back experience, head to the Beacon Pub & Eatery. Their outdoor patio is a fantastic place to sip on a refreshing drink and take in the mountain views.
Whistler is a truly exceptional destination, offering a wide range of activities, dining options, and entertainment to suit every taste and preference. Embrace the early spring season and create lasting memories during your time in this picturesque mountain town.

My husband and I are heading to Whistler for a few days later this month. We are taking our cruising bikes (for the village and paved trails) and plan to walk the train wreck trail. What else might you suggest for activities and places to eat and drink? We have accommodations already. I have been in the winter and the summer but never this early in the year.
Edit: Any recommendations for vegetarian or vegan would be most welcome.
