Just an FYI (This is second hand info) I have heard that a lot of cruises are including booze packages.
Caroline
Some cruise packages come with the inclusion of a beverage package. Our last two: Mediterranean and Baltic with HAL, arranged by http://www.cruisevacationsinc.com/ out of Edmonton did.
CRUISEVACATIONSINC.COM
Cruise Vacations Inc.

You can "gift" booze to yourself before you arrive (at least with Princess you can) and then get room service to bring it all up to you after you arrive in your room. Its much cheaper than getting it after you board.
Caroline
and you can always each bring one bottle in your carry on on embarkation
Kate
Caroline yes true. Not enough
Alethea
Check out Norwegian, they offer at least 1 choice complimentary, free booze, free upscale dining, free excursions, free internet and 3/4 person free. Inside cabins get 1 choice, balcony cabins 2 and so forth.
Alethea
Also if you gamble at all with them, you get discounted offers!
Cassi
I should add that I cruised with Carnival before and I've never been through a different cruise line so I'm unsure what to expect.
Caroline
I think Carnival is more the party ship; Princess and HAL tend to be a bit older crowd; I understand Disney is also excellent. We decide where we want to go, what ports we want to see, and then see what cruise line is going to give us the best bang for the buck
Alethea
Norwegian is exactly the same
Cassi
As Carnival Alethea?
Sonia
Carnival and royal Carribean are my go to's but honestly I love carnival
Alethea
I think it's the same as carnival. My go to used to be carnival, now it's Norwegian. I like princess and Royal Caribbean, but the pricing is higher and not as good value
Denise
They all have booze packages now , either include with free perks or to purchase
Caroline
but to purchase is exorbitantly expensive; and all people in the cabin must have one if one is purchased.
Marie
Some cruise lines don’t have the rule that every other passenger in same cabin must purchase booze card.
Denise
That's not true at all , I just finished a 12 day celebrity cruise and we got it as a free perk as well as gratuities paid and book one for next year with same free perks !! But to purchase is around 50-75$ a day includes everything to drink including nice wines !! I looked into other cruise lines and there all offering the same kinda packages !! And not everyone in the room Must purchase !!!!!!!
Cassi
I can't afford that. After 7 days it adds up. And for most of the days you're hardly on the ship anyways so you still have to pay for booze off the ship.
Ian
I bought a booze package on my last cruise. I guess I'm a lightweight because I could not drink enough to make it pay. Never again.
Maja
The price difference between all inclusive and cruise is huge is it not?
Cassi
I think considering flights and all they are pretty comparative.
Sharon
Flights are not included in a cruise. We did both last winter.
A all inclusive is SO much cheaper!!!!
Mike
Was looking at both yesterday and the price difference was substantial. Admittedly the food would likely be better on the boat but after flights, a hotel to accommodate the cruise, it was still cheaper by a lot to go to an all inclusive.
Michel
Love cruising and we always use Royal Caribbean
Linda
Going on paul Gauguin cruise in Tahiti booze included
Sonia
Cruise!!! I agree with Kate on gifting yourself booze and buying the pop package instead as mixers. We do this all the time.
Cassi
Don't you get charged to bring booze on?
Sonia
On Carnival you can bring 2 bottles of unopened wine each adult, but before your cruise you can go on your fun page and gift your room with booze. I think I paid like $90 each 1.5 L of rum and paid the $5 / day bubbles package. If you are going on a longer cruise it's MUCH cheaper this way as everyone over 18 in your cabin has to buy the alcohol package if even only 1 wants it. So we went in an 8 day cruise and I think it was going to cost us like 800.00 for hubby and I to do the drink package but I don't drink much so wasn't worth it for me. I "gifted" him some run to our room and cost us a fraction of the price and he was drinking all week!
Sonia
Ooooh and now with Carnival you can buy flights with them, they are cancellable and changeable up to 14 days before your cruise so if you find a flight cheaper you call them and they see if it applies. This is also added onto your cruise fare as a package price so you can pay it off gradually like your cruise itself. Makes cruising much more feasible especially considering flights are usually more than your cruise
Allison
Weve done both! 100% perfer all inclusive! Not that i drink that much to justify free booze, but also dont want to pay 7$ a drink! Or 90$ for my own bottle for the room! Ill note im a smoker as well and i dont like going to find the smoking deck esp when i have a balcony off my room. I get non smokers dont wanna smell it when there on their deck but its an easy fix smoking wing?! I think 50-75 crazy amount a day esp if they make u both pay holy crap crazy! I cant afford the high end rooms to get the perks soooo!
Llana
Most cruise lines have a drink package that ranges in the $50-$70 a day mark and offers you approximately 15 drinks a day. It’s a good deal considering most drinks or eight to $12 on the ships nowadays. So you pay a little extra, sometimes NCL has a sale where you can have it included. I have also done all-inclusive‘s and they find them boring because I feel I have to be there because I paid to be there. I have done condo rentals and have eaten out at numerous restaurants in Mexico and absolutely love that over an all-inclusive. I also like to cruise

All Inclusive Resort or Cruise Vacation: Which One Should You Choose?
When it comes to planning a relaxing and indulgent getaway, the choice between an all-inclusive resort and a cruise vacation can be a tough one. Both options offer their unique advantages and cater to different travel preferences. In this blog post, we'll explore the pros and cons of each to help you make an informed decision.
All-Inclusive Resorts
All-inclusive resorts are a popular choice for those seeking a hassle-free vacation experience. With a single upfront payment, you'll have access to unlimited food, drinks (including alcoholic beverages), and various on-site activities and amenities. Here are some key advantages of all-inclusive resorts:
- Convenience: Everything is included in one package, so you don't have to worry about additional expenses during your stay.
- Variety of Dining Options: Most all-inclusive resorts offer multiple restaurants and cuisine styles, allowing you to explore different flavors without worrying about the cost.
- Unlimited Drinks: This is a major selling point for many travelers. You can indulge in your favorite cocktails and beverages without racking up a hefty bar tab.
- On-Site Activities: From water sports and fitness classes to nightly entertainment and kids' clubs, there's often a wide range of activities to keep you occupied without leaving the resort.
Cruise Vacations
Cruises offer a unique travel experience, allowing you to explore multiple destinations while enjoying the comforts of a floating resort. Here are some compelling reasons to consider a cruise vacation:
- Variety of Destinations: Cruises typically visit several ports of call, giving you the opportunity to experience different cultures and sights without the hassle of packing and unpacking.
- Diverse Onboard Activities: From casinos and broadway-style shows to rock climbing walls and waterparks, cruise ships offer an abundance of entertainment and activities to suit all ages and interests.
- Dining Experiences: While not always all-inclusive, many cruise lines offer dining packages or allow you to dine at specialty restaurants for an additional fee, providing a wide range of culinary options.
- Relaxation: With no need to worry about transportation or accommodation between destinations, you can truly unwind and enjoy the journey.
Ultimately, the choice between an all-inclusive resort and a cruise vacation depends on your travel preferences and priorities. If you're primarily seeking a stress-free, indulgent vacation with unlimited food and drinks, an all-inclusive resort might be the perfect fit. However, if you're eager to explore multiple destinations while enjoying the onboard amenities and entertainment, a cruise could be the way to go.
Whichever option you choose, both all-inclusive resorts and cruises offer the opportunity to create lasting memories and truly unwind from the stresses of daily life.

All inclusive or a cruise? All inclusive seems tempting for the booze situation but I've been in cruises before and loved it so I'm unsure.
