100% island hop! Maximize your time on the islands rather than on a ship. Easy with kids and lots of fun. Pack light and just roll on and off the ferries. Enjoy.
Cindy
you miss alot by cruising
Jeannett
Island hop using ferries. Cruising sucks. Santorini is a must. Ios great. Paros

We stayed in a all inclusive in Greece. It was 30 minutes outside of Athens and right on the beach. Kid friendly also! We stayed and each day when we felt like it we explored Greece mainland. By renting a car or walking and even took their into town. Next time we are going island hopping.

The food in the restaurants in the islands is amazing. I think staying at all inc you miss out a lot

Cruise vs. Island Hopping in Greece
Introduction
Greece is a beautiful country with a rich history and culture. It is a popular tourist destination, and there are many ways to experience the country. Two popular options are cruises and island hopping.
Cruises
Cruises are a great way to see multiple Greek islands in a short amount of time. Cruises typically depart from Athens or Piraeus and visit a variety of islands, including Mykonos, Santorini, and Crete. Cruises are a good option for families with young children, as they offer a variety of activities and amenities for kids.
Pros of Cruises:
* Convenient way to see multiple islands
* Variety of activities and amenities for kids
* No need to pack and unpack multiple times
Cons of Cruises:
* Can be expensive
* Less flexibility than island hopping
* Can be crowded
Island Hopping
Island hopping is a great way to experience the Greek islands at your own pace. You can choose which islands you want to visit, and how long you want to stay on each island. Island hopping is a more flexible option than cruising, and it is often less expensive.
Pros of Island Hopping:
* More flexibility
* Less expensive than cruising
* Can experience the islands at your own pace
Cons of Island Hopping:
* Can be more time-consuming
* Need to pack and unpack multiple times
* Can be difficult to get between islands
Which is Better for Families with Young Children?
If you are traveling with young children, a cruise may be a better option than island hopping. Cruises offer a variety of activities and amenities for kids, and they are a more convenient way to see multiple islands. However, if you are looking for a more flexible and less expensive option, island hopping may be a better choice.
Conclusion
Ultimately, the best way to experience Greece is the way that best suits your interests and budget. If you are looking for a convenient and kid-friendly option, a cruise may be the best choice. If you are looking for a more flexible and less expensive option, island hopping may be the better choice.
Additional Tips
* If you are cruising, be sure to book your cruise in advance, especially if you are traveling during peak season.
* If you are island hopping, be sure to purchase a ferry pass, which will allow you to travel between islands at a discounted rate.
* Be sure to pack light, as you will be doing a lot of walking and packing and unpacking.
* Bring plenty of sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats to protect yourself from the sun.
