We got married there in Feb 2015 and a few of our guests had young kids and had a great time. There is a child zone and children's pool that is shallow. They have just finished expanding their beach as well, there was quite a bit of coral when we were there so I would recommend water shoes if you like going in the ocean as opposed to pools. The food there was really good and there is an exchange place at the hotel to change your $ over, I would bring Can over USD to exchange. We did a great snorkel tour and lots of people did the village tour and enjoyed it! Have fun!!

We have traveled with our three kids and always bring children's Advil, Tylenol & Benadryl. Small water bottles are handy. Hats are a must for our kids. Husband always like to take his Franks hot sauce..lol
. Pretty standard stuff. I'm sure you guys will have a blast

Bandaids too! In Cuba you have to see a doctor to get one. If you can leave these things behind when you leave the Cuban people will appreciate it.

did your kids have any issues with their tummies?

We have been lucky, our kids didn't have any stomachs issues. One time in Mexico they got sand fly bites & came down with fever for a day. Advil & Benadryl helped a lot. Cuba was never a problem.

I stayed at the memories right beside. You are going to absolutely love this beach!!
There's not a whole lot to do in Cayo Coco because it's just resorts. I just relaxed on the beach for a week and that was glorious for me lol! The beach is calm and clear so perfect for little ones.
You could take the double decker bus to pillar beach if you like but it's similar to the beach at the resort. I brought things to give to the people ( toiletries, clothes, colouring books, dollar store stuff is awesome) I loved it for a relaxing vacation. I was by myself and was entertained for the week . If you are a fussy eater you may want to bring hot sauce and ketchup or whatever spices you like. I personally found something I enjoyed at every meal, just don't expect food like here or even Mexico. I hope that helps!

Yes, Ketchup! And do the double-decker bus! What an experience! Playa Pilar is bar none, the most beautiful beach I've ever seen. You have to pay for a beach chair, but it's so worth it. Hardly any coral...there is an alcove where you can find sea shells and starfish and it's perfect for the kids! There's a little restaurant and a drink stand that does a fabulous job! Loved this day trip!

A lot has changed since 2012! New management and a lot of work to bring sand in to the beach! It is gorgeous! We had a group of 59 people and everyone enjoyed themselves!! No need to worry!

Bring little pkg of Kleenex as anything off the resorts may not have it including the bathrooms in restaurants.

Been to Cuba had a great time with our 3 boys. Bring your regular travel medical pack (bandages, Advil, gravel, polysporin) and lots of sunscreen we ran out and found it to be very expensive to buy on the resort
My boys had sand fly bites (really tiny bites that became very itchy) make sure that the kids take really good showers or baths. As well we brought some colouring books and small school supplies to leave behind for our house keeping crew they were very
Enjoy your vacation !!

We stayed there last fall. Take a bug
spray, your own towels, toys for kids, sunscreen, pain relief and antiseptics. The beach is clean, but rocks are sharp, so you will need swimming shoes. There are not much to do there, so bring all your entertainment with you. The food is better in buffet than in a la carte restaurants, so don't waste your time staying in cues for tickets. Be prepared for lines, their logistic has a lot of room for improvement. Internet is only in the lobby and only by prepaid cards that are a pain to enter, so forget about all internet related things. The power went off couple times, so don't expect electricity being consistent neither. Couples massage at the resort was
great. Manicure and pedicure was so so. The shows at the theatre were kind of amateur. The alcohol cocktails
in the bar were terrible, everything contains cheap rum. I gave up alcohol on the first day there
the food in the buffet is pretty safe, if you eat wise and don't risk with salads and creamy desserts. Better take hot food. Don't expect good seafood. There was only frozen fish
have a fun vacation! Overall, the nature there is great!

We have vacationed in Cuba for the last 10 years and have another trip booked for January (we haven't stayed in Cayo Coco before though, although we did do Cayo Santa Maria one year). We have been taking our son since he was 6 months old and he is now 7. We have never had any issues with tummies except for 1 year about 5 years ago and that was at the very end of our trip while at the airport...Cuba is a fabulous country and the people are amazing! You are going to have an amazing trip...my suggestion is to just take medicines that you would normally have in the cabinet at home, advil, tylenol, naproxen, and for kids, children's benedryl, children's advil that kind of thing...we also took a small blanket as the nights can get a bit chilly for the kids...We take down our own peanut butter, hot sauce, gravy, teas, some favorite snacks for the kids (for when we do day trips)...I hope you have an amazing time!

What I found with Cuba is a lot of parents take their own jar of jam, nutella, peanut butter etc. cause of the difference in taste for some things compared to what we have in Canada

Tips for Traveling to Memories Flamenco in Cayo Coco with Young Kids

Traveling to Cuba with young children can be an exciting adventure, but it also requires some extra preparation. Here are some tips and tricks to help make your stay at Memories Flamenco in Cayo Coco a memorable and enjoyable experience for the whole family.

What to Pack

  • Sunscreen: Pack plenty of sunscreen with a high SPF for both you and your kids. The Cuban sun can be intense, and you'll want to protect your little ones from harmful UV rays.
  • Insect Repellent: Mosquitoes and other insects can be a nuisance, so make sure to bring insect repellent to keep your family comfortable.
  • Beach Toys: Pack a few beach toys like buckets, shovels, and inflatable balls to keep your kids entertained on the resort's beautiful beaches.
  • Snacks and Drinks: While the resort offers dining options, it's always a good idea to have some snacks and drinks on hand for your little ones, especially when traveling or during long beach days.
  • First Aid Kit: Pack a basic first aid kit with bandages, antiseptic cream, and any necessary medications for your family.

Activities and Entertainment for Kids

Memories Flamenco is a family-friendly resort that offers plenty of activities and entertainment for children. Here are some highlights:

  • Kids Club: The resort has a Kids Club with supervised activities, games, and crafts tailored for different age groups. This is a great way for your little ones to make new friends and stay entertained while you enjoy some adult time.
  • Pools and Water Park: The resort features several pools, including a water park with slides and splash areas that are perfect for cooling off and having fun.
  • Beach Activities: The resort staff often organizes beach games, sandcastle competitions, and other activities for families to enjoy together.
  • Evening Entertainment: There are often family-friendly shows, movies, and live music in the evenings, giving you and your kids a chance to relax and enjoy the entertainment.

Tips from Families Who Have Visited

Here are some additional tips and tricks from families who have stayed at Memories Flamenco with young kids:

  • Bring a Travel Stroller: The resort grounds can be quite spread out, so a lightweight travel stroller can be a lifesaver for getting around with little ones.
  • Request a Room Near the Kids Club: If your kids plan to attend the Kids Club, request a room nearby to make drop-offs and pick-ups more convenient.
  • Pack Snacks for the Beach: While the resort has dining options, it's always a good idea to pack some snacks and drinks for your beach days to keep your kids fueled and hydrated.
  • Embrace the Slower Pace: Cuban culture tends to be more relaxed, so embrace the slower pace and enjoy quality family time together.

Overall, Memories Flamenco in Cayo Coco can be a wonderful destination for families with young kids. With some preparation and an open mind, you're sure to create lasting memories and enjoy the beautiful beaches and family-friendly amenities.
