I booked a car on expedia and got a smokin deal. Like 1/3 of the price, just keep searching until you find a deal.

Hillary yes the trick with expedia is to keep looking quite often until u find a good deal , and one always pops up eventually.

Hillary dollar car rental comes up with the cheapest through expedia. Do you have any experience with them?
I googled reviews and they're not great.

I went during spring break 2 years ago, but should have booked the Old Lahaina Luau months before. They ended up telling me that I could wait and see if someone didn’t show up, which happened but they were sold out for weeks. I would go to their site and book early unless there is another place to buy cheaper tickets?

Get The Best of Maui. Lots of great info for your first trip. Don’t bother with road to Hana with young children. Beaches Kamaole 2, or 3. Shave ice! We stay in Kihei, easy access to beaches, shops. Kihei Car Rental used to pick you up at airport and drive you back when you return car. Check Shops at Wailea for events and activities.

Heather it’s great! We saw shark & turtle feeding. Kids loved it. Buy your tickets online through Costco (USA) to save $$

Pacific whale foundation great! Atlantis submarine rated high as well although I haven’t personally gone on it.

Old Lahaina Luau hands down! We have been 3 times. We have always booked online. They always sell out so you won’t find any discount tickets elsewhere. We always rent from Thrifty car rental. You can always keep checking and get the lower price if it does go down. We have never had a reason to complain. Have a great time!!

We used Maui cruisers. Older cars, but it was waiting for us in the airport lot when we landed. No need to line up at the rental booths. Only issue we had was we flew in late and the car only had a little gas. So just ask that the tank is full for you!

We had an awesome experience with Cruisin' Maui Rent-A-Car - picked us up at the airport, very small fee to include a 5 point harness car seat and great vehicle.

The last few times we rented cars using TURO. Privately owned cars, generally found to be flexible with drop off times, and all have been reliable and well-priced.

Make sure you book your luau in advance! We tried to get into the old Lahaina one and it was booked. We went to drums of the pacific, which was good!

If you’re staying in Kaanapali, or planning to visit, put your name down at Barefoot Bar between 3-5. Happy Hour with toes in the sand, live ukulele musician and hula dancer often grace the stage around this time. Even if kids get restless, you can walk them to the beach for 5 mins and come back to your table. Such a relaxed barefoot meal on the beachfront.
