First time going to universal studios in California. Any advice on maximizing our one day is appreciated. And what’s our best bet getting there from our hotel near Disneyland? Tyia

We rented a car and drove up from disney. We only had one day too.
I suggest paying the extra to get the express passes. You get no line ups for the shows and rides. It helped maximize our day.

Rent a car! There’s a car rental in downtown Disney.... and if you have private insurance or roadside plus/road star packages it will save you money on a rental if u decline the extra insurance

Definitely pay extra for the vip passes! You can probably see everything within the day! uber? Lyft? Saves you parking but costs a little more! A little over an hours trip each way!

3 of us split a lyft, $50US one way. I would do that again in a heartbeat. No worrying about driving or parking. They pick you up and drop you off right out front.

We always booked our tours through our travel agent and we got picked up right at our hotel by a tour bus. That way we could nap on the way there/back. The downside is dropping everyone else off too on the way when you just want to get back to your hotel after a long day. But I’d rather not drive.

The Anaheim to LA rush hour was horrible (both morning and evening), took waaay longer then google maps estimated to drive from Anaheim to Universal, so give yourself tons of time. I went in early November and it wasn’t busy in the park and our regular tickets were fine-we saw everything we wanted too.I loved the Harry Potter land. There’s a calendar you can find on google that predicts when Universal will be busy or quieter.

Universal Studios Hollywood: A First-Timer's Guide to Maximizing Your One Day

If you're a first-timer planning a day trip to Universal Studios Hollywood, you're in for a treat! This world-famous theme park is home to some of the most iconic rides, shows, and attractions in the world.

To help you make the most of your one day at Universal Studios Hollywood, here are a few tips:

1. Plan Your Day in Advance

The best way to maximize your time at Universal Studios Hollywood is to plan your day in advance. Decide which rides and shows you want to experience, and make a schedule so you can avoid wasting time wandering around.

You can use the Universal Studios Hollywood app to help you plan your day. The app provides a map of the park, as well as wait times for each ride and show.

2. Arrive Early

Universal Studios Hollywood opens at 10:00 AM, but it's a good idea to arrive early so you can get a head start on the rides.

If you're staying at a nearby hotel, you can take advantage of the Early Park Admission program. This program allows you to enter the park one hour before it opens to the general public.

3. Use Single Rider Lines

If you're willing to ride alone, you can use the single rider lines to skip the regular lines.

Single rider lines are available for most of the major rides at Universal Studios Hollywood, including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter™ and Jurassic World—The Ride.

4. Take Breaks

It's important to take breaks throughout the day, especially if you're visiting the park with children.

There are plenty of places to sit down and rest in Universal Studios Hollywood, including the various restaurants and cafes.

5. Stay Late

Universal Studios Hollywood is open until 10:00 PM most nights.

If you stay late, you can experience the park with fewer crowds and shorter wait times.

Getting to Universal Studios Hollywood from Disneyland

If you're staying at a hotel near Disneyland, there are a few different ways to get to Universal Studios Hollywood.

The most convenient way to get to Universal Studios Hollywood is to take the Metro Red Line. The Red Line runs from Disneyland to Universal City in about 30 minutes.

You can also take a taxi or ride-sharing service from Disneyland to Universal Studios Hollywood. However, this option is more expensive than taking the Metro.
