Eastern or Western Europe? Quite a big difference. Also depends on where you stay and what you do. Hostels, food, travel etc. I would say $100/day minimum. $75/day in eastern europe

I just did 3 weeks on 1500 euros but that was just food for 2 of us and a toddler... We paid for our hotels ahead of time. We were in Western Europe

Depends on how much you plan, what your tastes are, and eastern vs western. I budget about $750/ week including all travel if you don't want to stay in hostels etc. that's on the high end though. Depends, like I said

My family of five did a month in Europe in Oct 2013. Ka-Ching!!Take twice as much money than you think you'll need and half as many clothes that you'll think you'll wear.
That is a tough question to answer. Depends on where you are going and what you'll be doing, where you'll be staying.

We went for 2 weeks, France and Italy and the cost was about $5k. This was for air and hotels some tours/city cards (in July 2008). but I suppose it could be cheaper depending where you stay. Plus meals and anything else.

London and Paris with 3 adults over 18 day just shy of $10k CAD (Flights, airbnb accommodations and a few guided tours). Meals etc about another $5k...Not PB&J budget but certainly not champaign and caviar either.

Budget travel in 2007. 2 people for 9 weeks for $8000 total including all flights and some train travel. Leased a car for 6 weeks (Renault Eurodrive program-excellent!) and camped, even in big cities. Then took a train to the Alps and hiked in France, Italy and Switzerland (Tour du Mont Blanc-200 km round trip, staying in refuges with half-board). Finished off with 5 days in Paris (stayed in Vincennes, a suburb of Paris right on the metro line for a fraction of the hotel cost in the centre of Paris). Fantastic holiday! If this is your style, you could do it now for $10,000, i am confident. $5000 for 1 month of travel.

We did 3 weeks in France for about 8-10k and that was a "spare no expense" trip, hotels, music festivals, restaurants every day and even included a few 500.00/night hotels ... With a good budget and some smart planning, 5k should be more than enough IMO. I'd avoid overly tourist areas as they are the most expensive and all major cities have great transit, so you can stay in the outskirts for way cheaper

I'm a budget traveller, but I don't do hostels. I did 3 weeks in Spain for $3,000 including flights and accommodation. But I am very money conscious. Check out airbnb.com for a variety of great accommodation with a wide variety of prices.

We used air bnb and averaged about 100$ for 2 people for all food, entertainment & train passes (total not each). Although Switzerland and Germany were more expensive, we made up for it in Spain & portugal. Italy was a middle ground expense-wise. air bnb and local markets are the way to go! We packed lunches every day.

airbnb is definitely the way to go. Your money goes a long way for nice places and you can make your own meals. Although if you are traveling alone hostels are great because you met lots of people. We did Europe for a month last year (Dublin,London,Paris, nice,Rome,Munich,Amsterdam,Brussels) we opted to fly almost everywhere to save time. All together for airbnbs, flights, trains, food and 1-2 tours per county it cost $6000/person.

Estimating the Cost of a One-Month Trip to Europe

Europe is a vast and diverse continent, with each country offering its own unique experiences, cultures, and price ranges. If you're planning a one-month trip to Europe, the cost can vary significantly depending on your destination, travel style, and budget. However, here's a rough estimate to give you an idea of what to expect.

Accommodation

One of the most significant expenses when traveling is accommodation. In Europe, you can find a wide range of options, from budget hostels to luxury hotels. On average, a budget traveler can expect to pay around €20-€40 per night for a dorm room in a hostel, while a mid-range hotel or Airbnb rental can cost €60-€120 per night. For a one-month trip, you could be looking at €600-€3,600 for accommodation alone.

Transportation

Getting around Europe can be relatively inexpensive if you opt for budget airlines and trains. A one-way flight within Europe can cost anywhere from €30 to €150, depending on the route and airline. Trains are often a more scenic and comfortable option, with rail passes like the Eurail or Interrail allowing unlimited travel for a fixed price. For a one-month trip, budget around €200-€500 for transportation.

Food

Food costs can vary greatly across Europe, but on average, you can expect to spend €20-€40 per day on meals if you're on a budget. This includes eating at local cafes, street food stalls, and cooking your own meals. For a one-month trip, your food budget could range from €600 to €1,200.

Activities and Attractions

Europe is home to countless museums, historical sites, and cultural attractions. Admission fees can add up quickly, especially in popular destinations like Paris, Rome, and London. Budget travelers can expect to spend around €10-€20 per day on activities and attractions, while those seeking more immersive experiences may need to allocate €30-€50 per day. For a one-month trip, this could amount to €300-€1,500.

Total Estimated Cost

Based on the above estimates, a one-month trip to Europe for a budget traveler could cost anywhere from €1,700 to €6,800. However, keep in mind that these are rough estimates, and the actual cost will depend on your specific itinerary, travel style, and destination choices.

It's always a good idea to research thoroughly, compare prices, and plan your trip well in advance to ensure you get the best deals and make the most of your European adventure.
