We stayed in Kumano House in Kyoto...away from the noise of the city...old style townhouse with 2 bedrooms. Near grocery store and bus stop. $212 cad/night. They like to be paid in cash and the property manager is American.

Inari Ohan townhouse near Inari station (JR line) and Fushimi Inari station (Keihan line). Four adults and one child and it was very comfortable. Newly renovated, beautiful full bathroom downstairs with wooden tub and huge windows facing a small outdoor area, very fancy toilets
. Quiet neighbourhood and so close to Fushimi Inari Taisha shrine that you could easily wake up early and beat all the crowds there. Only two stops away from Kyoto Station.

Also should mention it's a row of townhouses so you can choose the unit based on what you need. We stayed in the unit called Koyomi https://www.booking.com/hotel/jp/inari-ohan.html
