Heather

Heather

Cold Comfort for ice cream!
Cold Comfort
Andrea
John's Place for food!
Jo
Yep, John's Place. Belgian waffle.
Jennifer
Order the marble cheesecake at John's Place.
Veronica
Little jumbo for food and drinks
Soo
Veneto for cocktails, little jumbo for late night, Tapa bar for food, Fiamo after midnight (if you're up late). Part and parcel is amazing food as well but a bit outside downtown core. Agrius was featured as one of the best resto in Victoria.
Angela
Some of my favourite places are Blue Fox Cafe (breakfast/brunch), Parachute Ice Cream, Garrick's Head Pub, Floyd's Diner, John's Place, Big Bad John's (bar) can be fun. I live here, so feel free to ask about specific places/interests
Angela
Oh, and Red Fish Blue Fish (like a bunch of others have said) but I'm not sure if it's open yet or not.
Angela
Also, Be A Tourist in Your Own Hometown starts (late) next week, depending when you're coming: https://attractionsvictoria.com/be-a-tourist/
Deb
Blue Fox is my fav...but get there early!!
Mimi
I second or third blue fox. They have the best hollandaise sauce, bubbles and squeak oh and their granola! I miss that place.
Sally bun is a must if you like cream cheese. It's a cafe thing on fort street and the buns are filled and I mean filled with flavoured cream cheese. My favourite is lox and cream cheese cheese. Yum!
Laura
Big Bad John's was great but I heard it closed?
Angela
I know the owner died a year or two ago but BBJ's was still open as of at least this past fall...
Shelley
If it's a nice day/evening and you don't mind the long line: Red Fish Blue Fish on the warf. We also like Famoso Pizza. There are lots of pubs in the City, one of my favourites is Christie's Carriage House Pub.
Ivy
We enjoyed dinner at The Guild.
Ashley
Red Fish Blue Fish for lunch, and Agrius for dinner!
Michelle
Definitely Red Fish Blue Fish if they are open (I think they are closed in the winter season...)... be prepared to wait, but it is worth it! I really like Olo for dinner.
Michael
I'm all about 5th St Bar and Grill. They have a wood fired rotisserie, and if you're in to that kind of thing, the 1/4 or 1/2 rotisserie chicken dinner is out of this world. All from happy, free range, organic chickens.
Spinnaker's is my other go-to, as Vancouver Island (and possibly Canada's) oldest brew pub it's worth checking out, plus all the food is as farm to table as possible, even the sea salt they have on the tables is refined on site. They bake their own bread, brew their own vinegar....
Both are outside of the downtown core, but still central, and as a result are a bit less pricey, WAY less crowded, and equally good or better food.
Joyce
You can also take the harbour tug boats from the inner harbour over to spinnakers rather than a taxi..probably cheaper too!
Liessi
Breakfast / brunch / lunch at Floyd's. Super cool retro/vintage hangout and some of the best bennies ever. Arrive hungry.
Mary
best place to stay-Parkside Victoria. the museum is always great
Cheryl
Olo Restaurant!

You've probably arranged your travel and accommodation but in case you haven't, we saved a lot by using BC Ferries vacations. For about the price of the hotel, you get the ferry trips in the package.
Sarah
I second Olo Restaurant, it's amazing there and in a super cool neighbourhood. Make sure to make a reservation first... enjoy !
Diane

Laura
Outside of downtown is Cook Street Village, which has some nice little shops, bakery, coffee, etc. and if it's a nice day you can walk along the path next to Dallas Road which runs along the ocean.
Laura
If you like sushi Ebizo Restaurant is some of the best I've had anywhere... we go there every time we are in Victoria
