we just got back from the Crown Paradise Beach in PV. Wonderful adults only, superb service, good food and premium drinks! I'd go back tomorrow!!
Krista
We really liked Cabo but the beaches can be sketchy with high rip tides. Haven't been to PV or Ixtapa but We would choose playa del carmen over Cabo.
Judith
I like Pt. Vallarta. Lots to see and do. But if you're into swimming in the ocean, it is not a good idea. The sewer runs into that bay. Los Cabos is a Canadian tourist destination, more Mexican in some areas. Los Cabos has nice condos to rent for short stays. Guadalajara is exciting. There's two very long streets for shopping. One street is high end the other is moderate. And the restaurants are wonderful. Going down from Cancun to the smaller centers is not as crowded.

You didn't mention Huatulco, which is my favourite place in Mexico so far and I've been to the Mayan and Puerto Vallarta before too. I like Puerto Vallarta, although the beaches aren't as nice. Never been to Ixtrapa, but I wouldn't mind going there one day as well.
Sue
I've also been checking out Riveria Nayarit which I hear has miles of white sand (just north of PV)
Denise
Riveria Nayarit also known as (Nuevo Vallarta) is the place to go. A bus ride north of PV airport, hotels provide this transport. Long sandy beach to walk and great hotels, very very safe. Go you won't be sorry. I've been to Playa Del Carmen but go to Nuevo now & love it. Check out Bucerias, a small fishing village full of sights and markets.
Jason
Weather wise - you are guaranteed sun in Ixtapa. We own there for that exact reason.
Kathy
Checkout Hualtuco a little piece of heaven Every day hot weather, very layedback. Great place to relax, swim and Eat good food.
Debra
Los Cobos is amazing ... but Huatulco is heaven
Leah
loved Puerto Vallarta , would go again in a heart beat
Susan
I have been to both and Neuvo Vallarta and Bucerias are my favourite because of the beach, by far. Actually going back this year.
Bubba
WE own a home in Cabo San Lucas we'd be happy to send you info and pic's of. $3000 definitely would be within your budget. Please feel free to message us for more info. Gracias
Debra
Los Cabos for sure ... then Huatuco
See
Terra Lynne
Don't mean to steal your thunder, Suzanne...but for the Ixtapa and Cabo lovers - is it hot there over Christmas?
Bubba
We were at our place over New Years...28-30 and Sunny every day....

Mexico Vacation Destination: Los Cabos, Ixtapa or Puerto Vallarta?
Planning a vacation can be an exciting yet daunting task, especially when you've already explored some of the popular destinations in Mexico. With your budget of less than $3,000 and a preference for adults-only hotels, let's explore the pros and cons of Los Cabos, Ixtapa, and Puerto Vallarta.
Los Cabos
Situated at the tip of the Baja California peninsula, Los Cabos is a stunning combination of desert landscapes and pristine beaches. This destination boasts a vibrant nightlife, world-class golfing, and a variety of luxurious all-inclusive resorts catering to adults.
- Pros: Stunning natural beauty, high-end resorts, excellent dining options, and thrilling water sports like snorkeling and deep-sea fishing.
- Cons: It can be more expensive than other destinations, and the party scene might not appeal to those seeking a more tranquil vacation.
Ixtapa
Nestled along the Pacific Coast, Ixtapa is a relatively more affordable and quieter alternative to other popular Mexican destinations. This beach town offers a laid-back atmosphere with serene beaches, scenic hiking trails, and a range of all-inclusive resorts.
- Pros: Affordable accommodation options, fewer crowds, and a relaxed vibe perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway.
- Cons: Limited nightlife and entertainment options compared to other destinations, and fewer activities beyond beach and water sports.
Puerto Vallarta
Puerto Vallarta strikes a perfect balance between vibrant culture, natural beauty, and modern amenities. This coastal city offers a diverse range of activities, from exploring the historic Malecón boardwalk and art galleries to indulging in world-class dining and lively nightlife.
- Pros: Diverse range of activities, rich cultural experiences, picturesque beaches, and a variety of accommodation options within your budget.
- Cons: It can be more crowded and touristy than other destinations, and the city's sprawl may require more transportation.
Based on your preference for adults-only hotels and your budget, Puerto Vallarta might be the ideal choice. It offers a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and cultural immersion, with a wide range of adults-only resorts and activities to suit your needs.
Ultimately, the decision comes down to your personal preferences and travel style. Whether you choose the luxurious Los Cabos, the tranquil Ixtapa, or the vibrant Puerto Vallarta, Mexico promises an unforgettable vacation experience.

My husband and I are looking into vacations to Mexico during or just after spring break. We've been to cancun, playa del carmen and the mayan. We're looking for a new place to visit but I'm not sure which location to choose. If you had a choice between Los Cabos, Ixtapa and Puerto Vallarta which would you choose? Spending less than $3000.00 would be ideal. We'd only be interested in adults only hotels as we'll be leaving the kids at home. Thanks in advance for your advice!
