Hello folks! My girlfriend and I are headed to Korea, Japan and Taiwan in late-August/early-September. 7 Days around Seoul, 11 Days in Japan and 5 days around Taipei. Do you guys have any interesting itineraries in mind for each of those destinations?
We're in our 20s, like exploring/hiking, picturesque scenery, are interested in day trips, and eating delicious local cuisine, amongst other travelling activities. Thanks in advance!

In Taipei there are tons of things to see like Taipei 101, Chiang Kai Shek Memorial, Sun Yat Sun Memorial, Lungshan Temple, Snake Alley, Shilin Night Market and Hsimen Ding. Hike up Elephant Mountain or find a way up Yangming Mountain.
Outside of Taipei check out Yehliu Geopark, and Jiufen which is a small town nestled in the mountains east of Keelung City.

Loved Kyoto, there was a super cute vintage kimono shop. I was able to buy authentic kimonos for @ 30$ per person. It’s called modoribashi
237, Yakunincho
Kamigyo-Ku, Kyoto, Kyoto
Japan 602-8241
It’s far cry from the 120-200$ at the textile centre.
The castle was great as well. Very quiet and a nice walk, you can also rent bikes there to bike downtown.
541, Nijojocho
Nakagyo-Ku, Kyoto, Kyoto
Japan 604-8301
If you rent bikes there are free underground parking garages just for bikes and it’s free!

I would highly recommend Koyasan. It was the highlight of my last trip to Japan. Offers great hiking and the chance to do a temple stay with monks. You can get there from Osaka or Kyoto.

Great destinations! For Seoul, I definitely recommend visiting the War Memorial Museum, not for everyone but I found it very interesting. Also some of the palaces, Gyeonbokgong being the most popular is beautiful to see. If you are up for it and like seafood, I 100% recommend visiting Noryanjing fish market, great experience to pick out your seafood and bring it to a restaurant and have it made for you. Japan, I would recommend you get a 7 day JR pass that will allow you to travel to other areas such as Hiroshima, Osaka, and Kyoto. I’d probably only stay in Tokyo for 4 of your 11 days. Taipei, would recommend visiting the Chiang Kai Shek memorial, such a sight to see. Hike up Elephant Mountain for great views of Taipei, and visit the night markets for some awesome food. Let me know if you’d like some more recommendations, went on the same trip last year, you’ll have a great time!
