Try Homeaway - if staying for extended time don't be afraid to email the owner to see if they offer better rates for extended stay - we booked a 1 bdr apt in the center of Rome that was listed at $1100 CAD for a week but because we were staying for a month we got it for $1500 for the whole month ... try autoeurope.ca and also look at the airtransat.ca, they have rental cars that include extensive insurance and often no increased drop off fees where picking up in one country and dropping off in another - I did a quick check - 35 days - compact car - pick up in Milan (Rome and Milan only pick up sites in Italy), drop off in Paris - $2200 CAD includs addiional driver at no cost, GPS, no deductible insurance coverage including for glass beakage, roadside assistance - we have not tried this but are considering it for our next extended Europe trip. Worth lookinf at. We have rented cars in Italy on 4 different occasions and have always used SIXT car rental. Their rates are good, service good, available in lots of places, but I have not sourced out pick up in one country and drop off in another. Hope that helps

Traveling to Europe in the Fall

We are so excited to be traveling to Europe for a few months in the fall! Our journey will begin in Venice, where we will be staying with family for some time. However, we are also looking for information on renting a van and a flat in case we need it during our travels.

Renting a Van

When it comes to renting a van in Europe, there are several options available. You can choose to rent from popular companies such as Europcar, Hertz, or Avis. Make sure to compare prices and read reviews before making a decision. It's also important to check if you need an international driver's license to drive in the countries you are visiting.

Renting a Flat

Renting a flat in Europe can be a great way to experience the local culture and save money on accommodation. Websites like Airbnb, Booking.com, and HomeAway offer a wide range of options for short-term rentals. Look for properties that are centrally located and have good reviews from previous guests.

Other Important Information

Before you embark on your journey to France, Switzerland, and Germany, make sure to research the visa requirements for each country. It's also a good idea to familiarize yourself with the local customs and transportation options in each destination. Don't forget to pack appropriate clothing for the fall weather in Europe!

We hope this information helps you plan your trip to Europe. Have a fantastic time exploring these beautiful countries!
