Question:

Jillian
What kind of recommendations are you looking for and if it's restaurant related- are you vegetarian or vegan?
Megha
Places to drive around and stay for a night. Also, we are vegan, any restaurant recommendations will be great too. Since we didn’t plan ahead, we may even get out for the long weekend the week after.
Jasbir
Harrison hot springs. Down town vancouver. Weather all week is nice go to whistler or seattle
Alan
Jasbir I second Harrison. Close to where you live and who wants to drive a long way with a 7 month old! Stay at the resort, only place with the actual hot pools. The public one is awful.
Suzie
I would suggest the Harrison Hot Springs Resort, Semiahmoo Resort, or come into Vancouver.
Sasha
Harrison hot springs resort or Seattle would be my choice. La Connor in Washington is good for one night. They have the tulips growing there and the calico cafe is great for lunch.
Sharron
Whistler is relatively in-expensive this time of year. delta Hotel is nice, slog Pan Pacific.
James
We have stayed at this B&B a couple of times. Lovely people and astonishing views. https://oceanstar-beachfront-bed-and-breakfast.business.s...
Kathleen
Sunshine Coast or Bowen Island Victoria,
Harrison or Whistler if not wanting to take the ferry then there is Deep Cove too
Sylvie
Peachland Eagles Nest B&B. Fantastic view, great location for beaches, wineries, cycling. Quiet location. Nicely furnished.
Wendy
Tigh-Na-Mara Resort in Parksville. Spectacular beach for wee ones. Nice restaurants near by or in the Resort and Grotto Spa.
Lisa
No way. Tigh Na Mara is a dump and the beach is a black muddy, smelly mess. The Grotto Spa looks lovely online and in person, but the water is cold. It’s ridiculous how the website refers to it as “warm” water and recommends cooling down in the “cool splash cascade”. The water is cold and the cascade is freezing. Super unpleasant. Also, it is not a natural hot spring like Harrison. It’s artificially mineralized.
Cheryl
I agree with Harrrison. Great for families and close to home for you.
Barbara
Parksville, Tofino, Gulf Islands.
Jen
Barbara Parksville is awesome!
Gail
Last year for my Husband birthday we had a weekend in White Rock overlooking the beach. It felt like a real get-away and no ferry expense. We live in New Wesminster so it was only about a 40 minute drive.
Elisa
Best time to go up to Whistler since it’s off peak season and also to take advantage of the Spring dining specials.
Phillip
Victoria. Especially if you haven’t done the ferry. It’s awesome scenery. Won’t be disappointed
Sandra
Sunshine Coast - Gibsons. Gorgeous there.
Stephani
Semiahmoo resort, just over the border and so beautiful.
Theresa
La Conner or Victoria would be easy to get to
Rae
Harrison Hot Springs
Carrie
Bowen Island. It's close and just far enough away that you feel like you're on a vacation.
Lennie
Carrie McLellan Haqq and it’s overnight quick cheap travel
Linda
Carrie McLellan Haqq the Island is SOOOO expensive in the spring/summer. We were looking for a short trip for my birthday the end of May.
We ruled it out because there are better alternatives.
Tanya
The Lodge on Harrison Lake!!! Beautiful and peaceful
Brent
The #1 Small Hotel in Canada
The Francis Boutique Inn (in Ucluelet, next to Tofino and Pacific Rim National Park). Luxury. Adult only. Perfect

Whistler has last minute deals, suite secrets etc plus a good choice of restaurants. Just make sure you’re in Whistler Village (upper or lower) not Creekside if you prefer to walk most places. There is a free Shuttle bus from between the upper an lower village, the loop is on the road above the mountain bike park.
Try these 2 sites run by the resort: https://www.whistlerblackcomb.com/.../last-minute-deals.aspx OR https://www.whistler.com/deals/

Also, this place is great, 10 nice cabins along a river so not great for little but yours is still a babe so should be fine. Train goes by at far edge of large property, always an issue in the Squamish Valley. A good selection of restaurants in Squamish and there’s a good one one the property if it’s open. Best to call and see what they’ve got for you! http://www.sunwolf.net/squamish-cabin-rentals/

Whichever option you choose, the most important thing is to relax, cherish the moment, and create beautiful memories together as a family.
