We recently returned from the North Shore Oahu! I would recommend these baby friendly must see experiences: Waimea Valley (waimeavalley.net) there's also a fabulous public beach across the street called Waimea Bay Beach Park and the Polynesian Cultural Center (polynesia.com). The Elephant Truck food truck has great thai food!

Head to the north end/Turtle Bay area... way less busy and very family oriented. Try to visit Koaloa Ranch and the Dole Plantation

We spent half our time in Honolulu and half in North Shore. Honolulu is great for city life.. lots of food and things to do (shopping, zoo, aquarium, restaurants, museums) but the beaches in Waikiki (the main tourist area) are always packed and tiny compared to North Shore. North Shore is an awesome break from Honolulu and only about a 45min drive away. It's beautiful and peaceful with tons of uncrowded beaches (except for Waimea Beach) and yummy food trucks! Waimea Valley Falls is beautiful and has a stroller friendly trail to the falls since it's all paved. We just drove from Haleiwa all the way up to Turtle Bay Resort and made stops along the way. You'll see cars parked along the sides of the streets at the beaches and food truck areas.

Oahu with a Baby: Must-Eats and Baby-Friendly Experiences
Hawaii's island of Oahu is a paradise for families, offering a perfect blend of stunning natural beauty, rich culture, and endless opportunities for adventure and relaxation. If you're planning a trip to Oahu with your 8-month-old baby, you're in for a delightful experience. Here are some must-eats and baby-friendly experiences to consider:
Must-Eats
- Shave Ice: No visit to Hawaii is complete without indulging in the iconic shave ice. Look for stands like Matsumoto Shave Ice on the North Shore, where you can enjoy flavors like Hawaiian Rainbow, Lilikoi (passion fruit), and Azuki (sweetened red beans).
- Poke: Poke, a raw fish salad, is a staple in Hawaiian cuisine. Head to places like Sam's Ocean View Poke To'aKley Hi for fresh, flavorful poke bowls that can be customized to your liking.
- Acai Bowls: Fuel your day with a nutrient-packed acai bowl from spots like Halonen Halo-Halo & Acai Bowls. These bowls are perfect for sharing with your little one and introducing them to new flavors.
Baby-Friendly Experiences
- Waikiki Beach: Waikiki Beach is a must-visit destination, offering gentle waves, soft sand, and plenty of opportunities for your baby to enjoy the sun and surf safely. Pack a beach blanket, toys, and plenty of sunscreen.
- Honolulu Zoo: Introduce your baby to the wonders of the animal kingdom at the Honolulu Zoo. With a vast collection of animals and a dedicated children's area, it's a great place for little ones to explore and learn.
- Koko Crater Trail: For a gentle hike with stunning views, consider the Koko Crater Trail. This paved trail is stroller-friendly and offers breathtaking vistas of the crater and the ocean.
Remember to pack essentials like baby carriers, snacks, and plenty of water to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience for you and your little one. Embrace the laid-back Hawaiian spirit, and enjoy every moment of your family adventure in Oahu!

We are going to Hawaii (Oahu) for the first time with our 8 month old baby. Any recommendations on must eats or experiences that are also baby friendly?
