Vietnam Re-Entry Visa: Can You Apply For Another While Holding a Current One?
Introduction
Many travelers to Vietnam find themselves in a situation where they need to leave the country and then return within a short period of time. While it is possible to obtain a single-entry visa that allows for only one entry into Vietnam, it can be more convenient to have a multiple-entry visa that allows for multiple entries within a certain period of time.
Can You Apply For Another Visa While Holding a Current One?
The answer is yes, you can apply for another visa while holding a current one. However, there are a few things to keep in mind:
* You must apply for the new visa before your current visa expires.
* You must have a valid passport that will be valid for at least six months beyond the date of your intended departure from Vietnam.
* You must have a proof of onward travel, such as a plane ticket or bus ticket, that shows that you will be leaving Vietnam within the validity period of your new visa.
How To Apply For A Re-Entry Visa
To apply for a re-entry visa, you can either apply online or through a Vietnamese embassy or consulate. If you apply online, you will need to provide the following information:
* Your full name
* Your date of birth
* Your passport number
* Your nationality
* Your current visa number
* The date of your intended departure from Vietnam
* The date of your intended return to Vietnam
* A scan of your passport's photo page
* A scan of your current visa
If you apply through a Vietnamese embassy or consulate, you will need to provide the same information as above, as well as pay a processing fee.
Cost And Processing Time
The cost of a re-entry visa will vary depending on the country of origin and where you apply for. Processing time will also vary depending on the Vietnamese embassy or consulate but it usually takes around 5-10 business days.
Conclusion
If you are planning on leaving Vietnam and then returning within a short period of time, it is possible to apply for another visa while holding a current one. However, it is important to keep in mind the above requirements and to apply for the new visa before your current visa expires.

She’d like to leave to Philippines in couple weeks for 4’ish days BUT would like to RETURN into Vietnam
So, she’d need another visa but, is this possible?
Can she apply for another while holding a current one?
Anyone with a similar experience that did same? Please advise...much appreciated!! TIA
